Gas stoves are superior to electric stoves...but I still have an electric stove because I trust my solar panels to work more than our natural gas network.

Not today but in the future.

By 2035 California and most of Europe will ban the sales of petroleum powered vehicles. Sure you could most likely by used, but forget about getting new. So new vehicle consumers will be “forced” to buy an EV. Imagine most other States will follow suit, either on their own or by federal law.

    https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/6/29/eu-countries-approve-climate-laws-2035-fossil-fuel-car-ban

All of the safety and emissions equipment we have on our modern vehicles is because of government mandates. Consumers are “forced” to buy and use things like seatbelts, airbags, automatic braking, catalytic converters, among other things, otherwise suffer the consequences. Couple businesses being sued by the epa because of deleting emission equipment on diesels. Some of the free market wanted straight piped diesels, and the government stepped in and said, oh no you don’t!

    https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/ppei...agree-pay-31-million-criminal-fines-and-civil

Hey, I wanted to buy a brand new diesel HiLux in the US, unfortunately I was forced to buy a gasser Tacoma with a minivan engine. :) Imagine in 13 or so years, when I go to buy another, I’ll be forced to buy the EV version of it. Not that it is a bad thing.

There are only two things I like about my house: the gas stove and heater, and cheap ass fiber internet.

At least for the US, American car manufacturers announced the change to EV before any states made laws.

And all of those other things are good things.

I have oil heat and propane cooking stove and dryer. Oil is expensive these days.

The one thing I am not looking forward to in moving north, but I would suffer to get away from the heat.

You know, I thought it was curious it didn’t have any of those after-piss mints in it.

Yeh, I'm not a fan of the NJ heat and humidity. I could live in Montana no problem. My saving grace is a wood burning stove.

It isn’t that much cooler here in Idaho, have been breaking heat records this summer, plus it still gets cold in the winters. So they get you coming and going…
