Drove the Tacoma for the first time in like a month today for a dump run. This is why a full bed is staying on this truck:
    IMG_20220912_115114655_HDR.jpg

First I had to tear into the hub because it wouldn't engage, somehow the clutch came unattached from the hub dial. I just bolted the hub dial back on without the clutch because I didn't have time to dick with it. Over under Ron me forgetting that on the work bench before my next trip, LOL!!
    IMG_20220912_114146619.jpg
Been mentally prepping to chop this truck up after a wheeling trip to Hawks Pride at the end of October with some of the TNTW guys. Build plan is:
Getting 2 frame rails bent up by a local hot rod frame shop to replace the fucked rear ones, booger weld those on

    Chevy 63s

Redo my shocks so they aren't coming through the bed

    Air bumps #racetruck

    Probably new sliders

Roll cage either exo or internal, farming that job out to a fab shop.

    Stock bed going back on

    New rear bumper

Also weighed the truck at the dump: no tools, no wheeling gear, no spare, 1/4 tank of gas and just me: 4740lbs

That's what I do. I made a 30' extension cord and run it from the dryer plug into the garage so I can weld on 240v when needed. It's lightyears better than welding on 120v.

The part that sucks is that it's not even 240, it's just 120v 30amp service from the dryer. It does allow me to run my welder on full blast without tripping the circuit though. I had an electrician over and we talked over some sub panel options, I need the money tree to bear some more fruit first though.

Wow, 30 amp? I thought 20 amp was the maximum for 120v. My dryer is also on a 30 amp circuit but it's 240v. Has a weird 3 prong plug which is why it was cheaper to make my own extension cord.

Ahhh that makes more sense. Still, a 20a outlet is nice compared to the more common 15a. I've got a 20a in my garage for the well pump that I used to steal power from before I started using 240.

Did a bunch of house remodeling. I don't have a tow rig, so this truck does double duty supporting homeowner truck shit. Plus I look at the lack of cargo space you guys have on your little 2nd gen tube bed SXS looking setups and don't see any advantage of that over a jeep. I like being able to carry shit on the trail if I have to :D

To the dump and back because I don't care what they think!

In all seriousness why did you toss the bedsides back on? Seems like they would just get torn right back off again, plus it's blocks all the tube that shows you kinda have a rock crawler.

Purely aesthetics. I’ve already broken both taillights and just ripped the other one back off wheeling at home yesterday. The bedsides get dented, but it pops out easily. Just need to make stronger taillights haha

I'm curious to hear from you locals.. is it always raining at Hawk Pride? How is the park when it's dry?
Seems to always dump rain when I'm there, even when the forecast looked good. It'll be dry in Muscle Shoals and pouring rain at the park somehow

I went this weekend, sunny all three days, had a few small mud puddles from rain last Monday, I have been several times and never rained on me.
