    Thanks for confirming!

Dust shield...consensus is that you just cut enough to correct any fitment/rubbing issues. For those that have done this, still enough material there to call it a dust shield and have purpose or swapping to the 4Rs would be the better thing to do?

Plenty. You basically cut around where the caliper is to it will clear The rest will cover the rotor as it. If you get wit the 340/338 rotors you can pick up the 5th gen 4runner dust shields. They will fully cover. You still need to cut the 4runner shields though.

I used the 4runner when I put 4runner setup on then cut them for a Wilwood setup and will adjust a bit for the stoptechs that are going on here soon. I suggested that to my buddy and modified them without issue.

I will say if you have gussets spindles you will need to trim in the center or bend the shield a bit as the gusset rubs the dust shield. I had some rubbing on the rotor but cut some relief cuts and pulls it away from the rotor and good to go.

Also discount code: instagram-20 works (used to be 20% but still gives 15% discount). Order ST60 setup with 2 piece rotors. $2397 with over $400 off. Also used it early last year to pick up the Rear BBK upgrade for the rear disc setup. I think the GB code only does 10%

Ill snap a photo but on my recent order I opted for more aggressive pads and they sent Hawk rather than stoptech pads for another option that's more aggressive then the street pads.

For those that have the kit, where you still on rubber lines or did you do SS lines? If you had SS, in terms of pedal feel and pressure, better then before or same or ?? I have SS lines now and love how it feels and performs for reference.

I pretty much cut all of my dust sheild off lol. Got frustrated with it. Been like that 4+ years no issues. Not that I'm recommending this, but it's what I did.

Has anyone found replacement pads for the front stoptech 6 pistons? Last I looked they were all out of stock.

I shopped for some pads a couple years back. I didn't think highly of the Stoptech pads that came with the SOS kit and wanted to try another brand/line.
During my search for brake pads, I narrowed the search for pads that fit the Stoptech "ST-60" 6 piston caliper. It's a pretty common caliper and therefore quite a few pads for the ST-60. I found a set of Hawk HP+ pads (1st time user) for the ST-60 on eBay for under $100. Fit perfectly and I've been quite happy with them.

SOS now uses Hawk pads on their kids as well instead of the sports if you want sport.

What’s your wheels size? My BBK works in a late model 17” 4R wheels.

This is what they ship with kits that do not want street and instead Sport pads. I got these on my front setup.

!6". Looking at the 323 rotor. It's an AM wheel no one has or heard of, lol, a Vision brand 'Turbine'.

Earlier this year I swapped my Willwood Kit (Aero6 calipers) to the Stoptech ST-60 kit. Went all in with 2 Piece Rotors. Went slotted due to the truck being a pig. Went with anodized flat black.

I had a shop do the work as I was having some welding done. They removed my 4 runner backing plates and out in the spacers. I didn’t realize at first so for now I’m running it open.

    A3EA4531-5D98-408D-8A8E-77001D33ED52.jpg

Also finally swapped in the rear kit I have been sitting on for a couple years. I think it was the same one mentioned that was sold on X runner a guy put together ( I have the calipers, lines and new rotors I’ll have for sale. Was able to use code for a deal on the BBK kit) I’m trying it all to help stop.

Overall it’s been a great setup. I had the willwoods up front and stoptech rear for a short time while I waited for the front calipers which were back ordered for 6 months. felt hood. After swapping to stoptech F/R the pedal became super firm almost as if you need to push hard to stop. Not mushy at all and opposite.

I also installed the e brake setup. My biggest complaint is there. My e brake is non existent. It’s been adjusted a few times by the shop that’s installed it but still becomes useless. I know it’s not as big as the stock Tacoma but uses the 4Runner e brake style in the rotor and should do something. Taking to Tom and a few people they noted they had no issue. I’m going to pull the wheels and inspect. My guess is a combo of e brake cable length and adjustment was not done correctly. Anyone have e-brake issues that did the swap? Any insights or things you ran into?

The other item which came recently and Thai will go for anyone running LT and possibly Standard length with bypasses. Got luck but at the top of a mountain lost all brake pressure. At full lock the banjo came in contact with my bypass shock and has either vent or loosened it. A few folks have confirmed the same. I was able to tighten and get home with some air in the lines but none the less one thing is rather not happen again.
    661C30E1-62B1-4A54-86EB-4A1E95E803C9.jpg

Tom sent me some new banjos and I got some spares. He also had a kit of machined banjo bolts that lowered the head height to help with this issue. TBD but something to consider for folks running bypasses or if for is close at full lock.

    5C6B2766-1AD3-4743-A44B-720F4C19BF21.jpg

Now I just need to figure out the E-Brake issues and I’ll be set. For now O have limited some of the trips I have gone on. Especially after the last one with the banjo bolt.

I just finished my BBK install about a month ago. I honestly don't feel a huge difference in normal driving. The pedal feels the same and breaking is very similar. (slightly better as far as I can tell, but not as amazing as I had hoped.) That being said, I have not pulled a trailer over any of the passes since upgrading. I suspect that is where I will notice it the most.

I had been considering the rear disc conversion as well, but was following this thread and figured I would hold off until the E-Brake was figured out.

SOS has “a limited” stock of “silver cosmetic blems”, for Tacoma's, 30% off. Kit needs to include a silver cosmetic blemish BBK rear disk conversion. YMMV
