Here are some examples of Mid Century Modern (Foureyes work not mine). It's 50's inspired but modernized with some of the angles and shapes chosen:

Always remember every master craftsman started learning just like us. Just don't give up, and a solid 30% of woodworking skill gains come from finding creative ways to make mistakes look like a artistic planned touch. Lol.
Sand one corner of a box to much?? Make it convex.
Sometimes its scrap, but if you think for a minute quite often you can make it look better than it would of.

Also, we are usually our own harshest critics. Most people are amazed that you can make wood stick together, let alone have a actual fit and function.

Just giving an update on what's happened so far. I've tried two things:

    1. a little antler rack for the birds to land on that is sitting near the feeder for them outside (photo taken on carport, not by feeder)
    2. a tall cabinet for the bathroom (undecided about a door yet)

I want to try a small step landing at the bottom of our stairs to attempt refinishing the floor. I have also let my family know I may be asking them for projects they might like done so I can continue to practice different things to see what I like. I have a night stand request which I may do next.

I honestly didn't know she was into this sort of stuff, but I have a pretty nice Hitachi table saw that she can use! @Gen1TacoLady

Hey ya gotta start somewhere! I got plenty of tools to do it with!

I do have about 300' of quarter round to run if she wants to get plenty of mitre experience!

Just a few tools my dad has. Not too much. Got some hand saws and a circular saw. Small Orbital sander. Couple drills. :notsure:

Yep. Just getting started. It's been dormant for a while, but set loose with my unemployment.
