Nice. the ultraterrains look pretty good too. Surprised they are quieter but that's some interesting feedback. I like Goodyear in general. My great grandfather worked there and would travel all over South America to buy the rubber in the 1920's-30's. So I hate to hate on them because of that. But these stock GY wranglers are junk and stupid expensive for what they are.

I’m getting to the point where I need to hurry up and pick mine. Really like the look and reviews of the Mikeys, locally they recommended the nitto grapplers, and on here coopers, falken, Toyo seem to be popular choices. Hmmm where to begin :rofl::rofl:

agree with you. I got my 265-70-17 falken wild peaks for sale price as you. $135 each. That made sense to me. But now it’s $210 a tire? Nah.
And I asked the American tire tech why they went up. He stated that falken wasn’t sure of this tire so they marketed it pretty cheap. But once they were getting a lot of sale, they raised the price a lot.

I’ve had stock Goodyear Wranglers on a few vehicles over the years. They just suck. I won’t buy Goodyear tires for anything anymore.

I agree with that, esp as I see that they are coming as OEM fitments or dealer swaps on some stuff and getting requested heavily.

the only goodyear tire i like is the ST Trailer tire they make. Seems to be the best out there.

To the OP, I installed Falcon Wildpeak AT3 within a couple weeks of buying the truck. They are great, over priced here in California though

I removed my factory Goodyear Wranglers on my 2022 OR with less than 100 miles. Happily installed Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T.

I liked the Wrangler tires when they were new but by the time I hit 35,000 miles they were crap.

I have continental terraincontact A/Ts right now. So far I have no complaints.
They don’t look as good as the more aggressive A/Ts available but they ride great on the road and have been good off road.

I sold off those stupid Kevlar "Highway tires" and put on my 265/75/16 Duratracs. The tire Toyota should have put on an Off Road.

I have 21k. Upon recently rotated, I was surprised how worn they are and I'm also now getting squealing.

I went with the Michelin LTX A/T2 and got 90k on my first set. Just a bit more aggressive looking and still quiet.

I still have my OEM Wranglers with Kevlar. The tread hit below legal limit last month with 27k on them. Even with 50% tread left they were shit. In the wet and snow nothing but hydroplaning and fishtails with cautious driving. Good riddance when I get paid next.

I'm probably going for Wildpeaks next. I'm not looking forward to spending $1,600 on 5 tires with certs. I'm going up in size slightly, but the spare's rubber has hit it's age limit for safety.

My stock toyos went 50k, still weren't at the wear bars when they came off.

same, mine went to doodoo quickly about 30k, and when one had a puncture that couldn't be replaced, I happily replaced them all. I got more $ out of them through my own use then dumping them for a few bucks,,, so win/win for me.

Totally agree. I have been running those tires for 24 years on 2 different trucks and never got less than 100k miles out of them. 1 set I got 105k and that was still slightly above minimum safe tread depth.

i avoid GY tires. they have been the least durable and have worn the worse than all other brands i've run. i've had the best results with toyo and yokohama. i really like a smooth riding tire that does not take a lot of weight to balance.

My 21 sport came with Duratracs on it and they were great, I just hated how it said “wrangler” on it, didn’t need my new truck having some kind of identity crisis.

The OEM Goodyears AT’s on my 2019 OR lasted one year with 20k miles on them, as the first snowfall came in November 2020, I had no traction and spun on anything wet. I went with General Grabber ATS those lasted 26k, just pulled them for a nice set of Sumitomo Encounter ATs for $170 each installed, balanced and disposal fees. I learned to look for a harder tire this time, those Generals were soft and down to 3/32nds.
