Duuuuude, I saw some campers recently watching a fucking show on their projector screen on the beach. I could not believe what I was seeing…

Camping should be simple, no need to bring half of your freaking living room.

Haha what? There is no question RTT is more comfortable than a hammock or a ground tent. How is it wasting money for “status” over function? Ha! RTT is awesome and allows me to
sleep more comfortably in cold weather. Bonus, wife loves the freaking thing!:)

My tent is about 5x10, not sure what you talking about. And no, social media didn’t tell me anything, I don’t even have social media, only have TW. I got the tent cuz I extended my camping season and it’s colder to sleep in fall/winter/spring. Plus, you can set it up right over snow.

Not sure why so many folks hate on RTTs. They are definitely not for everyone, but to say it’s only for “broverlanding” or whatever is just ignorant. Its like 2nd geners hating on 3rd gen for no reason.

I used to laugh at guys driving around with their RTTs, until I tried sleeping in one.

Dude. Don't listen to that guy. He doesn't see the value and never will and cannot understand people

Just because you don't see value in something doesn't mean there isn't value there. Stay out of grizzly country with your affordable tent. I don't want to read about you and your family in the news.

I gotta admit, watching porno on the big screen, while making fajitas on your skottle, is some next-level broverlanding.

With the way society is circling the drain, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these overlander/influencer channels start an OnlyFans in coming weeks.

All the RTT hating is from folks who have never slept in one. I would bet my paycheck on that. (Your intellectual dishonesty will prevent me from accepting bets at this time.)

I spend weeks, every year, sleeping on a cot in a canvas tent while hunting. I would sleep in my RTT with my down quilt over the cot/mattress pad/egg crate topper/sleeping bag setup I use hunting, every time.

And, as someone else mentioned, waking up on the beach overlooking the ocean/stream/lake/et al is so much better than the view from a ground tent.

Did I spend more? Most likely. Do I give a rat’s ass? Not at all.

Just wondering, Aren’t truckers restricted to the amount of hours they can drive vs rest hours?

    Legally yes.

However I would wager that with the trucking shortage, the old art of logbook cookery has seen a bit of a revival.

I think a lot of them use electronic logs. Some with gps. But I’m sure there’s a way around that.

I sleep just fine on the ground in grizzly country. Just like 10's of thousands of other people have for 100's of years.

If it makes you feel better I sleep with a shotgun loaded with slugs, and 10mm pistol w/hardcase flat nose ammo in the tent when in serious bear country. Plus I'm not an idiot, food is in bear proof containers in a vehicle or up a tree at least 30 yards from camp. No cooking in the camp fire in bear country either. I appreciate your feigned concern, even knowing it was just a rationalization for getting ripped off for a roof mounted tupperware mattress. Because, ya know, a bear can't get ya 6' off the ground.

It's all about giving yourself more time to react. Easier to defend yourself from high ground. Good to see you have some common sense and take measures to protect yourself. The content and tone of your posts suggested otherwise. One love.

    First sentence above.
