    Nope.

I could have bought two of my Tacoma's in 2016 for that price

Come to think about it, I paid a little more than that for my Tacoma and my Tundra (mods not included )

Had a dealer in Georgia tell me they have a $10,000 market adjustment on all Pro's...... I politely asked then to take me off there email list.

I'm working on reserving one now....Dealer has the typical added Doc. fees of $750 or so otherwise it's MSRP plus tax-tag and title....They do offer lifetime oil changes and powertrain warranty free. Was told over the phone the deposit was refundable but haven't seen that in writing yet.

Well that deal fell through....Dealer ended up telling me they wouldn't order one with no options, not only would they not remove any port added options but they would also add 3 to 4 thousand more at the dealership. I guess the ones selling at MSRP are just making it up with junk added dealer options. Looks like l may have to wait a few months and see if the market gets better on the buyer side, I'm running out of dealers.

Dealer: Those mods and accessories don't add value to your trade-in, they devalue it.

Also Dealers: These mods and accessories add huge value to this new truck.

The dealer with the worst add on value looks to be the cheapest overall I have found so far. About $750 processing fee and then a dealer package at $899 which is pulsing brake light, loss value protection and window tint. That said I haven't talked to them about an allocation with no options and/or dropping port added options. I'm going to call today and talk to the salesman. He has been pretty good to deal with so far. I think if they would have just added a $1000 market adjustment it would have been easier to stomach. He did tell me they would leave off the tint and fancy pulsing brake light but I would still have to pay for it.

My dealer adds spacer lifts, A/T tires, and rock sliders to some of their trucks, calls it an off-road package and marks the truck up $10k for it. When the supply chain issues first started a couple of years ago because of the pandemic they started with the market adjustments and told people it was like having a savings account because they'd get that money back when they traded the vehicle in. This is just one of the many things that pisses me off about franchise dealerships. They assume everyone that walks through their door is a moron and market accordingly. When someone isn't and calls out their BS, they get indignant. Most dealers that advertise they are selling at MSRP are making it up somewhere else, like the port and dealer add-ons you mentioned. There is the rare exception though, and that's what you need to find. I'd suggest expanding your search area and searching the threads here, even if that involves flying somewhere to pick up the truck and driving it back home. Might even be a fun road trip! There have been many mentions of people finding a dealer that sold to them at MSRP and didn't play games.

FYI, dealers don't order anything. They get an allocation given to them by the distributor and try to match your request as best they can to what they get. The only thing they have some control over are the port installed options, and of course what they put in once they get the truck.

I generally keep my Toyota vehicles many years until I am enticed to trade in. Dealer markup makes me happy to keep my 2016 until price insanity comes back down to planet earth.

I have contacted out of state dealers and they all add market adjustment if you are out of state/local area. I'm still looking.

All of the cool cars and trucks have capitalistic markups. It will continue until people stop paying it.

^^ This. Yes, it's definitely economics and supply/demand, but dealerships are exploiting the situation to boost their profits. It's only the level of scumbaggery that varies from dealer to dealer. Some dealers are up front about it and just post the market adjustment right on a supplement on the window, regardless how outrageous it is. Other dealers will advertise and go out of their way to say they don't charge a market adjustment, but then add on thousands in way overpriced dealer installed options and try and make you think you're getting value. Either way you're getting bent over, it's just a question of with or without vasoline.
