Curious if an aftermarket garnish will fit the OEM one linked above?

Unearthing this old thread because I'm trying to wade through the sea of Pro-like grilles to buy for my '21 TRD Off-Road. What do you mean "purchase a garnish?" I'm unsure what the word "garnish" means in this context. I'm assuming the sensor everyone is talking about is the one used for the adaptive cruise control and there are some grilles that have a spot for it and some don't, and one needs to be careful about this? Sorry for the basic questions, but there is A LOT of good and bad information out there about this.

Not true. Fitment on cheaper ones is different. Some don't have certain clips and for example, I ordered a knock off on Amazon and the letters from a vendor here. Totally incompatible. Finish is also slightly different.

The one I got off amazon ended up coming with a garnish and letters, they were just shipped separately and arrived 3 days later. Nothing in the description about coming with them. They all work together, but the sensor has only one top screw for mounting and no ability to add spacers or anything like that. I attempted to flush mount with 3m tape on the sides of the sensor where the other screws would be but the dash light came on. No other way to mount it other than the single screw up top. But at least it keeps the dash light from coming on because it kind of sits at that right angle that it should be at. I used some loctite and called it good.

I agree, find the cheapest one because you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference in person, but they are not all the same and don't be surprised when you get what you pay for.

I found this option on youtube that does a good walkthrough of installing a grille.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ7sJNmPlgk
The grille he is using is here and looks to be pretty high quality and also has a few different options on the website for different color lights, etc. He also references a code you can use to get a discount on the grille as well.

I got my grille from them, including the garnish and front camera mount, for $269. Raptor lights would add another $50 and bring it to $319. Not sure where you are seeing $450. And the OEM pro grille also moves the front camera up above the logo. I've had no problems with the new camera position. https://tacovinyl.com/collections/2...-tacoma-trd-pro-grille?variant=37892376133808

Funny I just bought an 18 pro but the previous owner hit a pheasant and bought an after market grille with no tss. So there is a light on the dash at my Toyota dealer they wanted 600cdn for the grille and 450 for the garnish..I bought one today on Amazon with the garnish from quebec 225 shipped to my door should be here next week.

OK, he was looking at the painted grille. I pointed out a less expensive option. I humbly beg your forgiveness.

Update- Ordered and installed. Comes with garnish. Arrived within a week. Looks good and install was not challenging. Do not currently have a direct OEM comparison but fit was correct. No issues with TSS sensor *yet*. Knock on wood. Will updated after a couple thousand miles.

You can get an oem TRD grille with black letters (TRD lift kit) for less than $150 shipped.

What would you then use for the garnish? OEM garnish price is insane

I’ve got a 2021 TRD sport with a front camera. I am looking to get the TRD pro grille, which I think I can directly from Toyota, it’s the same one that comes with the TRD lift kit. Does anyone know if this is a good replacement? Meaning, it will fit? And also, will the camera just fit into new camera holder? Or will it need a new mount? Or I’ll be good with just the grille? Thanks!
