Hmmm. I hope that doesn’t mean they stopped making them. It seems like they’re backordered on the 1 or 2 sites that still sell them.

Damn!! Why is it so hard to find an A/T 255/85/16
    :annoyed:

Well thanks for doing the work of emailing them. I actually went to find a contact email earlier but then got distracted.

I still have about 40K miles left in my Grabbers so I guess I’ll just see what’s available when the time comes.

255/75/17 i kinda like the look more and more. Some angles look awkward, others not so much. Not too much trimming. Might need to hammer the firewall a bit. Overall pretty content with them.20220912_140122.jpg

Nah not yet. Just cause everybody wants to spend their money on aftermarket wheels doesn't mean there isn't a market for tires that fit OEM wheels
The Mastercraft CXTs are discontinued in 255/80/17 as well as the 16" offering. Most likely due to trying to simplifying their brands and move customers towards their Cooper offerings.

I went through this same struggle for many months and ended up just getting 265/75 ATs. Fast forward a year and change to needing new tires and I picked up some 17" FJ wheels since there are a couple of AT offerings in 255/80/17. Then I found the G003s for a steal in 255/85/16 and went ahead and just made the jump. So far I actually enjoy daily driving them, but we'll see if or how my thoughts change over time.

    Thanks for the info!

I am currently running E rated 265/75/16’s. I’ve debated switching to a 17” wheel since there are more skinny 33” tire choices in that size but I really love my Black Rhinos and I honestly don’t have the budget to buy 4 new wheels again.

I’m also thinking the road noise from a 33” mud terrain probably won’t be a whole lot more than my Grabbers since they’re E rated and have an extremely aggressive tread pattern for an AT tire.

It’s unbelievable how it changes the capabilities and the look. It looks like a full size truck to me.

I was thinking about going the direction of the FJ Steelies and the 255/80R17 Falken Wildpeaks. I had the same thought about the center caps, but I already own a printer! I don't think I am going to pull the trigger on the combination anytime soon though.

Been rocking skinny Yokohamas for most of this year. Was able to take them on lots of different off-road terrain, and they have excellent traction on rock, mud, roots, wet roads.

As expected, they aren’t great in sand. Wet sand isn’t too bad, but they dig down a lot in powdery sand, especially when not aired down.

Bumper is from Victory4x4. Doesn’t require any trimming of color matched plastic, which is nice if you wanted to go back to stock.

Hwy driving is typically 16-17mpg if I accelerate slowly. Most of the time it’s 14.5-15mpg. I’ve got 650 extra pounds on the vehicle (sliders, steel skids, bumper, winch, bed cover, floor jack) so the mpg is decent all things considered.
