Keep it about 500 RPM below the red line and as you slightly let off the gas it should shift. Obviously if all your traction lights and stuff are coming on because you're going wild and most likely won't.

The latest KD Max XT tune does have actual gear lock for automatics. Meaning you could "manually" shifted to a certain point.

 

When you hit red line in the third gens, it’ll completely cut fuel, it doesn’t let you bounce the limiter. there’s some posts about it in the tuning threads
