It has been a year and a half and just shy of 30K miles since my truck had the front brakes done. My truck had a little over 127K miles when Pete replaced the front brakes, and it has almost 157K now. This is a new record in terms of how many miles I've gotten out of brake pads, as I will have about 33K miles on them when they are replaced at the time of my next oil change!

And the rear brakes (drum, as all Tacoma owners know) have well over 50K on them, so I'd say I've probably got until about 200K until the shoes and linings need to be replaced. One of the things I love about drum brakes is that they tend to last!

Isn't it illegal to kill a praying mantis? I found this guy on back tire this morning...

My friend did about $600 in upgrades to my Dell laptop today; I had 8 gigs of RAM and a 500 gig solid state hard drive. He doubled my RAM to 16 gigs and added a second 480 gig solid state hard drive. I did not have to pay for it!

My tax refund finally came in today and I ordered a new backup camera for my truck since the previous one is failing. My current HU is also having problems, and I ordered the only comparable Pioneer HU with a CD player that I could find on Crutchfield. Due to the damn chip shortage, Crutchfield is totally sold out of new ones, but I bought a "scratch and dent" one for over $30 less than new. I did not realize it didn't have Apple CarPlay until after I bought it, but it does have the USB port in the front that I like better. It also has Bluetooth and is backup camera compatible, so I will install it before the drive up to Massachusetts and see how I like it. I've also got another Pioneer HU from 2020 still in the box with a defective cooling fan that is still under warranty. My dash bezel is also pretty worn out, so I am replacing that as well, and it came for free with the replacement head unit.

Hopefully it will be a nice upgrade over the current one.

Simpler than the old one, and hopefully the Bluetooth will work properly...

    Nice!

I’m still rockin’ the OEM single disc player.
No Aux plug-in. Nothing. But it does have 6 presets.

I figure I’ll upgrade the truck when I upgrade the HU:D

    I appreciate it bud.
But to be honest, I don’t listen to the radio much when driving.
I usually have the windows down. I listen to the radio more at night while I’m at home.

So far it has been great.
There was one time that it didn’t work.
But turning it off and then back on made it work?

If you wonder why I leave the windows down, it’s because I work outside a lot.
I don’t like going from hot to cold, cold to hot. I’d rather just stay “warm”.
Plus, sweat soaked clothes become cold. So, I just “live with it”.

My father used to smoke. He would do the same thing. He would leave the window down and the Heat/AC going.

After the first cigarette the window just stayed down.

Yeah, I don't smoke; I smoked weed once, and I've smoked cigars before, but I have never smoked a cigarette and never will... :puke:

And then lung cancer didn't directly kill my friend Jim, but if he hadn't have gone in for that surgery to remove a cancerous section of lung, he would like still be here. Jim's mom and a few other family members smoked, and his oncologist said that secondhand smoke is what gave him the specific cancer he had...
