How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

It's crazy how some of these dealers still haven't figured out the logistics and the process by now. Like come on, this is part of your job haha.

I'd been putting off my truck for a while, hoping to hold out until the situation got better. But my current car (200K miles) is telling me it's time. Getting clues about what's going on in the pipeline is big. Thank you.

 

Took delivery of a 22 DCSB Sport 6MT with Premium today.....more ta...com..a...lol

 

I put a $500 deposit down at a local dealer in March before doing some research. Then I got smart and widened my search in mid July. Drove 180 miles September 1 to pick up my new truck.


Altogether ~6mo, but only 6 weeks after I cast a wide net.

 

So story time.. sales guy calls and says great news your trucks here! yay happy dance. Unfortunately he's off tomorrow so can I come Thurs? I guess I've waited this long so sounds good. Im inpatient though and the dork I am texts and ask if I can have a picture of it.. sure he says as soon as he gets back.. texts me a pic at 7pm.. umm that's not my truck.. he says oh yes we have 2 similiar let me find yours... silence... they closed at 8pm.. did they lose my car??? haha I can't take much more of this!!

 

This is the end of my journey.

6/8 - Put down a deposit. Was not offered an allocation just a place in line.
8/10 - Salesman contacted me letting me know they’ve still got nothing.
9/10 - Salesman contacted me again letting me know they’ve got nothing.
9/10 - Picked up a TRDOR from a different dealer.

I decided to browse a few dealers 50 miles away immediately after my salesman told me they had nothing. Saw a TRDOR without “Pending Sale” in the title when I clicked on it. Contacted the dealer and was told it’s in the lot because the original buyer had pulled their deposit 3 days before the truck landed. I went and picked it up the same day.

 

So today at 5:33 pm CDT, I get an email stating that my incoming Tacoma "has been removed from your Toyota app account, and all active Connected Services subscriptions have been canceled."
I quick check the app, still good, 62 miles on the odometer. Later I check again, the app still works, I now have 108 miles. Check again a few minutes ago, my app only shows the 2014 Tacoma, the incoming 2022 is gone!

Is this an app problem, or did my incoming vehicle get sold to someone else?

 

It got sold from under you if the mileage is up to 108.

 

What hassles, if any, have you encountered getting your deposit back?

 

Hell my sales person with 30+ years experience, still thinks Tacoma's are built in Texas

It’s a refundable deposit, but I haven’t gone in to retrieve it yet. Planning on doing it one of these next few days.
