Rear Shock Mount Broke Off

97 reg cab 4x4 250k miles

My rear driver side oem shock mount broke off, I have king 2.5” rear shocks with piggyback adjustables, with Dakar leaf pack greaseable shackles, just have my topper on the bed, no sag weight is fine. This has been a Ca truck its whole life no rust on the frame. I will take pics tomorrow but should I get the dealer one or this one?

 

Didn't you have an issue installing your rear shocks, and ignored the collective advice of the forum?

Very true. Prerunner is technically 1WD. Open 4x4 is 2WD. Those that have rear locker are 3WD. And RR/FR lock are the REAL 4WD vehicle. Lots of people will dispute this.... saying their mud flap says otherwise (4x4)...

 

I both the driver and passenger side mounts from SafeTCap that I bought and will not use. If they will work for you I can make you a deal on them. Driver side looks like the second picture. Passenger is bigger and bridges over to the tank cross member.

 

Not only did he receive thorough instruction (with pics) on how to install several items, he also reported said member for harassment.

Yeah, I went back and looked at that thread. Looks like he had the stocks installed out at the ends of the studs rather than on them to clear the reservoirs.. At the time I thought the threads would just pull out and gave instructions for helicoils... but sounds like the extra leverage simply broke the stud off instead

I do remember that thread, but I thought I had also walked him through installing a leaf pack or maybe that was someone else.
