DIY drip irrigation question for y'all. We moved into this place in the spring and the old timer that was here before us put in a hodge podge of different components, but hey it works. And it being a kit that was cobbled together the flow zig zags around the property.
Anyways, my house sits facing East/West, and the main shutoff for the system is to the North of my driveway, and the systems seems to loop around the property counterclockwise, thru the sideyard, across the backyard, and down the southside and hopefully terminates at the street. I say hopefully, as there is a largish bush (6' in diameter) in the front that we want gone, and there is a crew working next door this week with a backhoe that offered to pull it when we were chatting about it. Hey better than hacking at it with a shovel/pickaxe etc.

Here's the rub, that irrigation system has a drip emitter about 3-4' away from the edge of that bush, and I followed the mainline down and its running straight into the root ball of the his bush. I can't tell if it carries on past there, but the only place it could carry on is under the driveway back to start of the run (highly unlikely). Would you guys just cut & cap the system at the last dripper and let the backhoe do it's dirty work? Or would you be nervous of about that line going to anything else?

I’d personally cut and cap then test. If you still get water where you need then you are set. Leaving it could mean the backhoe pulls it out and disrupts stuff.

Ya I think you're right. Inheriting stuff from a previous owner that was just kind of thrown together is a bit difficult to follow sometimes.

I had to plug lines off the main manifold because one leaked and it ran under concrete pad, and another channel half worked. I wasnt about to cut concrete or dig it all up

Is there a code height for the bulkhead doors foundation, from the ground to the top of foundation?

Is it considered as a step? Since I'm stepping on it going in/out.

Bought this little shed for my diesel genny. Major pita! Took like 6 hrs and I'm handy. Open floor so I laid a nice pallet down and leveled it w gravel. Nice thing was that I was able to screw down the shed to the pallet. Then I spray sealed all the seams just for the heck of it and glued baffles on strategic areas (flat areas!). I figure I just raise the lid and open the doors to run when needed. When Spring comes I'll put the genny back in the garage to protect it and annual maintenance.

That's pretty interesting. We have HOA rules against having 'sheds' but this non-permanent storage might sneak by them.

Where did you get it and what did it cost you?

It was Amazon and it cost $350. Warning though...major major pita to put together. I actualy put together a video for the next person to save them time!! Lol. Put it on Youtube for others to see. I think you have a legitimate point about it with hoa. It would work since it's not permanent.

Those work well, but if you find yourself needing more coverage, get some GE Light fixture outlets and run a chain of leds across the ceiling. As long as the draw isn't more than your original bulb, you're good to daisy chain a bunch of them. I have about 4 led bars for each of the 2 light sockets I have in my garage. Pretty good coverage, but I'd like to add more, I just used up all of the pack I bought on Amazon. Pics in my House thread in my signature.

My HVAC mini-split saga continues. I have had the installer back 6 times in 6th months. 4 of which were for condensate dripping inside the house because they didn't insulate the copper refrigerant lines and or didn't install the condensate fittings properly. 2 times for the unit not cooling (low refrigerant). This last phone call with the office said they won't charge me for the truck fee but might invoice me for the work... like WTF? NO you guaranteed the work for 1 year parts and labor.

:annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::crapstorm: Looks like they won't be doing the HVAC change out at our other rental now. :frusty:

Seriously don't know why it is so hard to find a company that does a complete job without call backs.:mad::mad:

    :bananadead: Rant /done.

This is kind of a silly question, sorry.
I just bought a house, and there is no towel bar in the bathroom. The only available space is in the corner by by the toilet, which doesn't seem ideal, but if it's the only option... :notsure:
Which is a less weird place to hang bath towels, directly over the toilet or directly next to the toilet?

I'll post some more interesting projects in the near future hopefully.

dont hang towels by the toilet. Pee splatters like 6ft. if you dont have options. you can mount to the back of the door or get a rack that hangs from the door

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Hang it under the window. It will be behind you when you pee.

That's not a bad idea. I'm so used to seeing towel bars at a certain height I never considered it could be hung lower under the window. Thanks
