Each to their own I guess. I'll happily spend $200-300-400 for a good fixed blade or auto, but $500+ for a folder pushes the limit for me personally. That's getting into firearm prices at that point. I'll stick with my plebian ProTechs and Winklers.

Nobody will judge you. There are a lot of fine folders for what you're willing to pay.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
You're exactly right with the fixed vs folder argument, but I didn't spend near that much on either of the Spartans. I think the priciest folder I own is either my CRK Inkosi Insingo or my CKF Daboia, and those were both <$400. Trades and secondary market make them a bit more attainable and easier to justify the price. Most of my collection has been from deals too good to pass up or trading up.

I'm definitely not an elitist and don't judge anyone for what they buy or choose. Get what you like and want, users or safe queens, cheap or custom.

Yeah I don't discriminate either, and have a fairly wide range of budget to "premium" knives. The nicest manual folder I own is a Toor Merchant which I just got and really like, but I also carry an old Benchmade Mini Reflex or Microtech Troodon pretty often too. Usually not doing anything too demanding so I don't need anything bombproof. At that point I'd carry a fixed blade.

I LOVE my Malibu, but I would prefer some texture on the scales. I'm exploring options.

Sporting an older ish Sanrenmu 763 …Small but quite capable, there was a time about 4 5 6 years ago ? when you could get these sanremu, Ganzo type knives for well under 10 bux. Amazing values.

Malibu has good resale. The textured is really nice. Most recently the purple but I'm just not fan of purple. I see texture pop up used time to time.

Best damn Benchmade ever made IMO. I’m been carrying the crap out of mine. Still dirty from the restaurant the other night.
