    Municipalities often do not allow trailers to be parked on street w/o connected to vehicle. On top of that, insurance maybe void unless connected to vehicle during transit.

    Municipalities don't qualify that in their bylaws. That said, suspect the user was not thinking of that. There are ways to jackknife the trailer & truck into 2 parking spots, to allow other vehicles access. That takes practice, skill, and a spotter that knows what they are doing.

    I've had this happen to me. Pull up to a stop light, there is a civic stuck on the median of some trolley tracks. Told him I'd pull him off and over to the 7/11, and I did. But he didn't stop. Jacked up his trunk lid to where it wouldn't close, couldn't see any damage to my truck so I let him leave as he was even more embarrassed at that point. Next day I saw the damage. He had hit my Jerry can carrier and left a dent in my license plate frame that's mounted on it...
