I have taken my 2020 Tacoma OR to the dealer 3 times because my radio doesn’t work 70% of the time. This last time the dealership replaced my amplifier hoping that was the issue. The next day I turn on my truck and no sound. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what the problem was.

I assume you are returning to the entune menu, and then ensuring the Audi is turned on?

it sounds like you are listening to AM or FM. But I thought I had problems for a while until I learned that the entune head unit like to leave Audio “off” even though my phone was plugged in and playing to the AUX.

I’ve turned the radio off and on and went through AM/FM and SXM. Nothing. I will turn my truck off and back on, it will randomly work. I was thinking its a wiring issue behind the head unit.

It could be a wiring issue… hopefully the dealer is actually confirming the wiring is appropriate when it comes in?

…or do they want to charge for that?

I assume, it work whenever they have it in?

They said they ”think” the wiring is good! They haven’t taken the head unit off though so idk how they know that. It’s under warranty so everything is free thankfully.

Yea whenever I take it in it is working of course.

I have had almost nothing but glitchy issues with mine.

I’m in a 21 OR DCSB … however, once my subscriptions to all the connected things like those in the App.

I have had zero issues. For whatever that is worth.

If it happens again, you can take the trim bezel off then take head unit out to check the connections then turn the truck on and see if it works or not. If it works, then put it back and bezel back on. No need to waste your trips to dealer. If you are nervous on taking it apart, then find a local audio shop near you. Some states have audio shop that includes window tinting shop.

If you have warranty, then go to dealer and tell those idiots to check behind the head unit to make sure...

    JBL system?

So they replaced an amp but never touched the head unit?

Seems pretty obvious what the issue is. Assuming you're still within warranty a head unit swap should be in order.

Yea I think that’s what I am going to do is go back to the dealership and have them actually check behind the head unit and check the wires sense it is still under warranty!

Yea I have the JBL system.
Yep I asked if they also checked the wires behind the head unit and they said no. It seemed to be working fine.

I was thinking the same thing. That they just didn’t want to switch out the head unit.

they will probably just replace it if you take it back again. they tend to give it to more experienced techs the second time around.
