The Black Box is a multi use black box that attaches to the top of your dash, via 2 screws, it is custom designed to install directly onto our , but can be installed without a DMM as well.

We designed the black box with the initial idea of making a new and interesting location for switches, and as some of you may know, I have an aviation background so I've always liked toggle switches but I didn't have a good place for them on my taco so I created this. I figured some of you may also be interested.

At this point I have ONLY 2 Black Boxes for sale.
    $40 including shipping.

These 2 are fully functional pre-production models. They include 5 x Single Pole Double Throw switches with a 2-wire harness each, the harnesses can be connected so that the switch is normally open or normally closed. Each harness is about 3 feet long.
The boxes themselves are made of aluminum and anodized black (Type III to avoid discoloration)
The switches are heavy duty and are rated for 6 amps but we recommend using them in tandem with a relay if you plan on using them for heavy loads.
I am currently using one of the switches as a camera switch, it allows me to switch from the stock backup camera to a secondary backup camera and I am running that signal directly through the switch, but it is up to you how you wire the switches.

Production models will be a bit different, and we will have updates here as soon as we have some news on that but these are completely functional and we didn't want to just throw them away so here is a chance to get a cheap one if you are into this stuff.

That looks great and a cool idea. Is there a way to run the wires out of sight for a clean look?

I guess I should have specified, the cable you see on the pictures is an iPhone charger coming up through the DMM and out through the black box, the switch cables themselves have to be run through the bezel, in my case they run through the notches of the DMM but you can also fit the cables through the mounting holes of the DMM or if you are not using a DMM, you can drill a single hole to run the cables through it.

Gotcha. Yeah that iPhone charger made me wonder. Any idea when production models will be available and approximate cost? I may be adding more accessories in the near future and this looks like a great option for some added switches. I don't have a DMM but a DSM I got a while back but drilling a hole for wiring works for me. I look forward to seeing the finished product.

This is really cool. I just dislike chrome (personal allergy) but I think I'd buy something like this.
