It's good your back is feeling better, what's your shoe setup? All the people I know (given they're closer to my age) that have fucked up backs insist on wearing garbage shoes like Vans or something else that's equivalent to a piece of wood with canvas stapled to it

My wife thinks I look best in Vans but that flat bottom kills me. I put my foot down (no pun intended) and outside of my "work" shoes it's exclusively Foot Joys. Absolutely the best.

Back when I was still golfing, man my favorite golf shoes were Foot Joys. Could wear those things like I wear my favorite boots, all day every day no complaints.

If I'm wearing shorts, I'll normally wear some Salomon's; cycle between 4 pairs (different colors) cause their ortho soles are stupid comfy

    20220914_210546.jpg

I'll still wear boots, especially in the garage, but I'm down to only 2 because they have really comfy "all day" type soles that provide a lot of support

    20220914_210607.jpg

What's funny is, the same brand (but lesser model) has an altogether different sole and not as comfy

You peaked my interest with these, but haven't seen them in person.

I'd want to try them on first.

Now they make shoes for every day and they are my go to. Love them. Sadly I spend most of my days in grounded shoes or this weekend I'll be in waders back at the Lochsa. Usually $100-$120 though for daily FJ's. Highly recommend!

I've worn through all my good shoes so I'm gonna need to shop for some new ones. I'll give the FJs a try, my go-to for outdoor shoes has been Merrell lately and I like em a lot but I wear soles out fast.

Had to put my dog down yesterday evening. That really sucked! She had a couple days on the mountain slopping around in her favorite creek before we came home. She hopped out of the truck, laid down in a strange spot on the hardwood floor and wouldn't move. Unless it's a family member, I don't want the burden of that decision again.

Sorry man, that's a terrible burden to bear I'm sure. But I'm sure you did the right thing as well, they can't do it themselves so you taking action despite the feelings is a mercy I'm sure.
