Small story time, the guys who work in the area come in the store at lunch and use the microwave to heat their lunch and sit at our picnic table and eat. Yesterday my wife cooked breakfast for her and the kids on the electric frying pan and got busy and didn't take it back and wash it right away and left it sitting near the microwave.

The guys came in at lunch, one of them turned the frying pan on and heated his tortilla's up on it.

It was still dirty from breakfast

Got to make two of these today. Probably take longer to program it than it will to run them.

When you program it, how does it know where the step down is around the holes? And the lip on the one side? I've never used equipment like that.

I have to tell it, each step, hole, whatever it is, is an event. Start, stop, depth, etc.

Good morning Shane and crew. Have a great Techno Thursday.

I’m another member of the love GPS but have tons of paper maps gang. Like Jeff, I started the Sheriff's Office in the map book days. At that time the county wasn’t even on the grid system so addresses were all over the place, rural route and box numbers were very common addresses in the north end of our county. You had to learn the lay of the land because one of the locals favorite pastimes was to pull up the concrete street name markers that were used. I can still talk people into locations of the county after hearing addresses or descriptions.

I’ve got a collection of DeLorme Gazetteers that cover all the southeast states :anonymous: I only keep the FL and AL ones in the truck, the others get tossed in if I’m traveling to that state.

    Thanks for checking!

Got behind a bit but I did some research on replacing them. I decided not to try to dick around with the existing.

Next step is to remove a hinge and measure the bore so I can get one that’ll fit.

I’ll post here when done (with pics ).

    If I haven't scrapped it, I'll take a look.

There's the street view. I couldn't get any closer to the tables without losing the correct angle.

I have used mine in the spring on my MINI that had been sitting since October and had a flat battery and it started without any problem. The battery jump starter should work in that situation. Some of those battery jump starters are specific in how you have to connect them and operate them as they have "safety" features to try to make them idiot proof that sometimes make it more difficult to get it to function correctly. But if yours did fail I would encourage you to try a different brand so she can be safe.

When I started at the FD they had a Map Book and locations listed with directions such as "Turn left at the Turner Farm" and "North past Old Man Bill's Place" - it was written by one of the old timers.

With all the cell phones these days and an app on every members phone there's not much need for paper maps in their eyes.

We used to hunt an hour away from home, a friend and I went once before I turned 16. I said there's that old combine, take a left. He said what are you going to do if they move it?

It's probably still sitting there and that was back in the early 90's :D

I worked with a guy who referenced everyone as "trick". He'd say you see where trick did.... whatever. I said you said trick died last week. He'd say this is a different one

I know directions like that, I still think in those terms while I’m driving. I have about broke myself from giving other people direction with those landmarks. Most of the time. Lol

Mine is a couple of years old, Noco, similar to Shane's - claims it will start a Ford 7.0 .. the only problem with them is that they're too smart; if a battery is totally depleted they may see it as a fault condition and refuse to charge it. They keep a charge forever though... I top mine up once every ~6 months and it's never down more than one bar at worst.
