My 2021 Tacoma has around 23,500 miles on it. Original OEM tires (Firestone Destination LE) with 8/32 left on tread. Just wondering what others are getting on their OEM tires and when you replaced them.

I had 48k on mine. I swapped them even though they still had some life left. I waited 5 years and figured that was a long enough wait and found a sweet deal on some used Nitto's with just a few thousand miles on them for $200.

Do the OEM tires come with a manufacturer warranty? Like x miles or years?

I was just going to say- you are going to get an wide range of answers, and low and behold first reply is twice as many as yours. Everyone lives/drives in different areas, and drives differently.

My 2018 Firestones were at about 45,000 and would have been replaced this fall had the whole truck not required replacement.

The Open Country Toyo A30 tires that came on my Texas-built TRD Sport was an excellent set of tires. I wheeled the heck out of them, aired them down... When I got my Wildpeaks at 33k they still had plenty of life. They were nice and quiet, and stopping distances weren't noticeably long. I feel like I could've gotten 50k out of them if I pushed it. Discount gave me $100 bucks per tire for their used inventory.

I swapped mine out at 20K. Noticed some traction loss the past couple thousand miles. (Factory Goodyear AT's) I drive some backwoods ass roads to work that don't get plowed properly in the snow. So, they had to go. Had about 45% tread left. Old tires were given to another member and put on another truck to get a couple more years out of it on the cheap...

Too long - can't justify new tires yet at less than 3K. Worried about traction in snow as we live at around 8000 ft and always seem to be driving in snow

The first year on those tires are fine. Don't be doing anything crazy, but they'll get you home. I went though two winters on the tires, although the last unexpected little ice storm and them not properly salting the roads made me swap them out before this winter.

No. I tried and was told that since I didn't but them, the warranty doesn't transfer. This was on a set of Michelins.

Good to know about those Destination tires that's what I got. I rotate at 5,000 miles, and am rotating the wife's subaru tires at 5,000 miles too.
Subaru has 38,000 miles on it and tires look great after 5 years - but I'm gonna get a new set regardless this fall.

In the SouthWest batteries don't last but about 2 years, 3 years max and tires after 5 years I worry about drying out and cracking and whatnot.

I ditched my GY Kevlar's at around 14K miles, but it had nothing to do with their performance or longevity. For road / highway use and light off-road use, they were more than fine IMO. I just wanted some C rated K02's and am glad I pulled the trigger when I did as they are a good bit more expensive now due to all this inflation crap.

Sweet this is good to know. I have to admit, they are the best OEM tire I’ve ever had , excellent gas mileage, good stopping in dry and wet roads, they feel like they stick to the road. Usually they are crappy tires that come with a brand new vehicle.

Thanks everyone for your replies. A lot of the miles on my truck are highway miles. My wife is driving a 2012 Highlander pushing 198K miles. We usually take my truck on longer trips just because of the mileage on her vehicle. Of course she's wanting to look for another Highlander. Maybe by end of year...

Every other tire that came with the 3rd gen TRD is crap, according to these forums and what I've seen from other people. I really had half a mind to just get those tires again in a bigger size. I seriously put them through their paces. I took them to the beach, crawled up rocks on off-road trails, aired them down to 17psi, and they never skipped a beat. The only puncture issue I had was catching a nail twice in the same tire.

    Like, so many.
Mine was about 10 miles. That's how far it was to the tire store.

Yeah, just get take-offs from someone that just bought their truck for a few hundred dollars and be done with it.
