Hey @rns0504, will you be making any more inserts for regular bottles/cans?

I have had a "Hydroflask Left" version in my 2015 for over a year. I mix between a 1L Nalgene and a 40oz insulated hydroflask on the left frequently with no issues. The fitment is snug on the Nalgene, but I can get it in and out one handed and it doesn't move at all off road.

i tried the 3 nalgenes I own and none fit. There was one I could’ve forced into place with some twisting. But I got a refund and gave it to another tw member who has hydroflasks. So it all worked out.
I’ve learned that the white/opaque nalgenes are the lite version. They are a little smaller all around. Those would probably fit. Clear and colored versions are a little larger.

Just saw it was sold out, and restocked it - thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the nalgenes are a big PITA. Unlike Hydroflask (which are incredibly consistent), the nalgenes seem to be somewhat variable. The even more frustrating thing is that on their website, they list them all at 3.5" diameter.

The hole is about 3.65" and can't be made any larger - Hydroflasks fit well, and they come in right at 3.6" or so. Even though nalgene specs it at 3.5", they tend to run larger, which makes it really hard to tell which ones fit and which ones don't. I've received two complaints ever that the nalgenes don't fit (including this one), and many more people who say they've had no issue, so I'm not sure what to make of it. I wish they could make the bottles more consistent, or at least post an accurate spec on their website.

    Thanks!

For reference on the size difference between the white and the clear. I wouldn’t have noticed if I didn’t have both. The caliper I have doesn’t go that large, or I’d give a more accurate measurement. Tile line will have to do.

I've been thinking about taking the Dremel to mine to better fit my Nalgenes. They're all clear, and they all fit very tight. No problems getting them in, but sometimes the whole unit will pop out when I try to pull one out.

    Thanks for the photo reference!

Here's the link to their site... where they claim it is 3.5" diameter :confused: Clearly it is larger than that... I wonder where the variability comes from?

    https://nalgene.com/product/32oz-wi...a_filter-color=red#product-description-anchor

Anyways, I think I have an idea for super easy fitment test, and I'll add this to my listings.

Regular sheet of computer paper is 11" long. Back to high school math, 11 / 3.14 comes right out to 3.5 inches

So, if a piece of computer paper will wrap around the bottle completely, it will absolutely fit. If it nearly wraps around, and the gap is tiny (up to 1/4), it will fit, but be somewhat tight. Any more than 1/4, not going to work!

I'll make a quick document on how to measure and add it to the page, so people can check on their own, to avoid any frustration. Clearly, the bottles that they claim to all be 3.5" vary a bit. I still can't find any reference online to anything in this size range being more than 3.5". Super frustrating, as somebody trying to make a matching product :fistbump:

Really appreciate the follow up info!

Snatched up a scratch and dent special. My adjustable cup holders broke a while back and got tossed. Tired of drinks falling over.

Just got a cupholder from Kylesburrell. Really nice 3D printed, snug friction fit in the OEM location. Fits both travel mugs. Thanks. Now I don't have to worry about bringing my cupholder to work with me lol!
