I have some big ass conifer/pine/whatever the fuck trees on my property line. Getting ready to take down 2-3 of the small ones (30ft but trunks are less than a foot in diameter). Field next to my house, but they are entangled in the other trees next to them. Going to use my winch to make sure they come down.

My nephews, 16 and 18, have never been to a concert so I took them to Korn last night at PNC. Fun time, $17 beers.

I've got 3 decent size dead trees in the front yard, plan to drop them all, buck them, then rent a big dump trailer to haul them off but I'm going to wait for it to cool down a bit.

City of Huntersville does tree/brush pickup for $40 a load, 10' wide x 10' long x 5' tall. I'm on a dead end, so it's really easy. They have a dump truck like this with a big boom/crane/scooper thing. Takes them 3-4 minutes. Well worth it versus loading all that shit myself.

I'd vote you have a TW bonfire though. :fire:

I’m in the County so no trash or brush pick up unfortunately. Oh but I still have do pay taxes like I live in Charlotte proper so that’s nice.

Mornin’, are there any wiring experts in the area that may want to make a couple bucks helping me out?

I bought some retrofit projectors and hooking up the headlights is easy enough but the halos (front, rear and turbine) are to be spliced in with either running lights, turn signals or whatever. I’m not comfortable splicing my existing wiring.

@Bannerman or any other lumberjacks on this forum...

I'm taking down these two middle pines, they are about 30-35' tall. Nothing crazy, not a ton of big branches in the middle to get leashed onto the other two trees, but enough that I'm going to drop them on the field side and use my truck/winch/straps to pull them in the direction I want them to go. I figure I can use a step ladder to get about 10' up the base and put my tree saver strap around it, then add a 30ft tow strap to that. Will barely need to let much out of the winch, but will put a little pressure on it just in case it gets tangled up on the way down.

NOTE: I know this picture is deceiving for whatever reason, but the big boys on the ends are easily 40-45ft tall, and about 24" at base.

    Thoughts?

Well aren’t those cute little trees. Are they back leaning? If not, let er rip and hammer in some wedges if need be. No need to worry about hooking up straps.

The bigger trees have some branches in their way. I don't think they will fall freely into the field how I want without a little tug job action. I wouldn't want the tree to partially fall, get stuck, and then not have a good angle to hook a strap too.

Plus I need to use this winch for something :D

True! Tree work is the only time my winch gets used :anonymous:
