I've eaten a lot of the cultural stuff and was raised on it. Slaughtered pigs and made chourico but the islands and mainland all have their own stuff. So I definitely wasn't exposed to this one lol

    :annoyed:

    :brianr:

If it's anything like last year, it'll stay in the 50s down here until like, January. Then be cold (by cold I mean down into the teens) for a couple weeks late jan/Feb. Then back to 40s/50s for March, touch 60s a few days in April, and then come May and we're back to normal.

Love being from the "south"

That's how Italy is too. Modern Italy as a country is pretty new, all the cities were independent city-states. I mean like, back into the mid 1800s it was still verrry separated. When the US was having a civil war, Italy was being formed as a country. Sicily is still very much their own ordeal - they're like the Italian Puerto-Rico

Same deal. Venice's food is way different than Roman, which is different than Napoli, Verona, etc.

I'll be honest - I am not a fan of chourico. I know, that's blasphemy around here. In my mind it's a low rent chorizo. It's fine, but given the choice, I'm cooking my own chorizo sausages before I get chourico.

Windshield repair took about half an hour. The cracks are sealed and it looks very good. There is what appears to be a slight smudge where it was, but it doesn't block the view at all. As long as it holds I'm good with it. If not, I'll go through the PITA of getting it replaced.

I got the truck detailed after that. Nothing to do with Safelite, but a guy who does mobile detailing. It looks really good.

BTW he has a Maverick PU and really likes it.

Yup, love the snow, can't wait for it every year! Watching forecast predictions on YouTube, they are calling for a colder, more stormy winter. Have to take it with a grain of salt though, as we are still a few months away...

I'm excited that the summer is winding down - this one started out warm in mid June and was pretty unrelenting until a couple days ago. These crispy days are extremely refreshing! But to play old man for a minute, I am dreading having to fill my oil tank this winter with prices where they are. Going to be leaning heavy on the pellet stove to help offset the hit.

Everyone I talk to expects a cold and snowy winter. I hate winter, so I am not looking forward to this.

Yeah, fall is nice as well (65° degree days are nice!), but I would also agree on filling an oil tank this winter, it is going to be tough for alot of people (I heard fuel prices are going to go back up).

Yeah I don’t usually feel like spooked but I couldn’t shake this feeling of them ganging up on my pooch so I just took her for a hike and as I hoped, they were gone when I came back

Yeah - so anyone who hasn't seen this... I am treading lightly because I don't want this to turn into any sort of political discussion :spy:

    https://markets.businessinsider.com...gic-petroleum-reserve-refill-inflation-2022-9

Long of the short, we've been using the reserves in the past few months, and now with prices contained, we may look at refilling those reserves. Demand for oil means prices go ^^^^ This affects us up in the north since we have to heat our houses to survive

Anyway, we have a new energy provider (National Grid sold RI to some company from PA). Chances are we'll be okay, but I am slightly nervous to see what shenanigans happen. They committed to no price hikes for 12 months and we're only 3 months in and they're talking about doubling the costs.

If you felt it, so did she. Chances are she'd have been fine, hunting dogs are actually pretty gentle. All bark no bite, that's their job. But still, end of the day they're animals and they might act like it.

I've had to use Safelite for small crack repair on both my Tacoma and 4Runner (maybe taller vehicles are more prone to this type of damage :notsure:). Both times the repair was fast. I can't even see where the crack was on my 4Runner. The Tacoma was iffy, and after the repair, there was only a small blemish. I've never had to have a windshield replaced though. I've heard stories that things are never the same after (not from any company specifically)

Dropped my skid and washed underneath for @jpereira2 next week, definitely need to hit my sliders with some rust reformer and paint them better :anonymous:
