    Hello everyone, thank you for the continued opportunities to clear rumors and misconceptions in both our marketing and products.

    I would first like to take a moment and apologize to @Tacoma1192.

    A few ppl here at MC thought I shouldn't respond to the thread at all, saying who cares if someone installs the kit incorrectly, people probably don't follow directions of every Ikea lounge set either. It was reply #34 of a stock IFS having the same travel as our setup that prompted me to chime in to correct the measurement error. I hope everyone would agree that this defense was posted in good faith against misinformation to a product belonging to a Tacoma World vendor.

    When I entered the thread at the top of Page 4, I did so to address the incorrect info and never meant to derail discussion. While I think my post was neutral, polite, and accurate, I did lose my cool a bit at reply #78 because OP aggressively held fast to his mistake and demanded all RCLT HD customers disregard manufacture instructions which is obviously unacceptable on legal grounds as every customer agrees to our policy to both install and use our products in the manner in which they are designed.

    For a moment, please put yourself in a vendor's shoe, and realize that while it's a free country and ppl may recommend how to install parts at their own discretion privately, you can't have actual businesses dictating to users of major platforms like TW to incorrectly install your product, especially considering this is a steering & suspension product responsible for the safety of your customers.

    In retrospect, what I should have done is sent Tacoma1192 a message to introduce myself, thank him, and inquire privately as to why he chose to inaccurately review our product. This would have given us a chance to evaluate together privately instead of me preemptively surfacing the incorrect information which wasn't fair to Tacoma1192, and from a business-to-business relationship, I am sorry for this. I don't think it would have been too much a stretch to request from OP...

    ...and had he followed-up with such an addition to the thread then it would have been viewed positive (also: always preferred when someone other than a business rep. states facts). Instead, and regardless of how polite I think I was or wasn't, it would not have been viewed as me walking into a club full of his supporters, pointing out his mistake, and then having people defend him which potentially caused him embarrassment while painting an unfavorable light on our product.

    That is the biggest lesson I learned from this experience.

    To Tacoma1192's credit, in response to why he skipped an entire step of our instructions, he did state that,

    Because I've accurately shared my technical corrections to the thread, I do not wish to derail OP's work further. In thinking how to respond to the continued discussion, which just since my last reply is chock-full of harmful misinformation and false rumors applied to our product, our brand, and myself, to not distract this thread further I'll put together my own thread to address this incorrect and defamatory talk running around on TW and will reply back with the link once posted.

    You can start all the threads you want but as long as you keep talking about your products in the manner in which you are ie: " the best thing on the market " and saying bad things about other companies kits while being the antithesis of humble these threads are always going to turn into a shit show. Honestly bro if you haven't figured this out yet one of the biggest things that fires people up to keep taking shots at you is your over the top marketing verbiage and complete lack of humility. Here is a better perspective IMO - Your kit serves a very niche purpose ie: crawling whereas the vast majority of folks DGAF about crawling and have multi use trucks or lean more toward go fast dirt fun... and outside of crawling your kit quite frankly can't compete with some of the other brands you keep knocking.

    But has he actually compared RCLT to those other kits outside of the context of rock crawling? I don't think I've seen Mike post anything saying that RCLT is the best LT option for high-speed desert running, for example...

    I think he was referring to the kits that the installer put larger than 35s on, not "all" LT kits.

    Total chaos does recommend 285’s for their 3.5" kit:

    I don’t see where that corresponds to my comment of him saying all other LT kits will only accept 285’s. It’s not the kit that depicts what size tire you go to it’s how much work you want to do along with the kit.

    Also a “recommended” tire size is a recommendation. Who goes by those anyway.

    Sorry. I thought you added the bold as it was a bit odd. My point still stands though. His kit does include more heavy duty parts. Calling the light duty might be a much.

    I don’t really care either way. Comparing them directly is a bit odd anyway. To me kits like DK and TC are more traditional long travel where Marlins seems to geared more to extreme off road.

    Yeah but he lumped JD Fab's kit in there which totally replaces the Factory lower pivots with stronger materials. Their LT kits are built with Chromoly as mentioned by @ovrlndkull above. His claims that they are 'light duty' are unfounded. Plenty of people in the LT thread beat on those components just as hard as people on RCLT. With 934 inners and chromoly CV shafts, I don't see any issues. The only thing RCLT has going for it is their proclaimed 'Lifetime Warranty' on CV axles. Though I'd imagine if you're shredding those, the diff is in far more trouble.

    Is that lifetime warranty a RCV warranty or a warranty from marlin? Are they going to warranty your ripped boots every 3 months?

    Ive already heard issues with people having worn RCVs but they wont replace it because its not broken. They click and are annoying or they go through boots very often.

    The below is in regards to clicking:
    I would be curious if people are adhering to the greasing schedule of the RCVs and using the right grease. Those were made for really one purpose, being strong, and not really made to be constantly spinning on a front diff without the proper ammount of grease or they will prematurely wear out. I just serviced mine (solid axle, used the stupid expensive RCV moly grease, but then again they are $900+ axles) and was looking at their greasing schedule and on a non manual hub axle like a jeep it's pretty much every oil change. I imagine the IFS RCVS are in the same boat.
