Is it as easy to do a Tundra brake upgraded on a 3rd gen as it was to do on my 1st gen?

The equivalent upgrade for a 2nd/3rd gen is probably the 4-Runner/GX460 front calipers and rotors. Plenty of info about it around here, hit up that search.

Ist generation wasn't that easy if you mean upgrading to the land cruiser brake components. Didn't even think the 3rd gen tundra needed a brake upgrade.

No, I had a 1st gen Tacoma, and put a set of front brakes on it from the Tundra, don't remember which gen Tundra it was but it was as easy as just swapping out the rotors, and calipers, worked fantistic!

1st gen tundra in 2001 had the same brakes as the tacoma that year. Later 1st gens got larger pads, and calipers. When buying brake pads, there was much confusion what pads a 2001 tundra came with. You had to supplied the worn pad to match up, or supply the trucks vin number.

My 03 Tundra stopped like shit until I upgraded to Hawk pads and slotted rotors. It came with the larger calipers from the factory but was still shit.

Well my 01 tundra stopped really like chit till i went with ebc slotted, and drilled rotors. Those soild stock rotors warped without even towing anything. I kept the smaller calipers and pads. It was like a different braking system in the truck after that. Never had an issue again.
