I've been very happy with the OME. When making decisions, I talked to RelentlessTaco and he mentioned that the OME provides the better performance between the two. I've got a list of my parts in my build (Wheeler's Offroad has changed some of the parts, but they are helpful in making sure you have it all). My setup was about $725 + $45 coil assembly. Note that I didn't get the Dakar rear, but if you want that, Wheeler's sells everything in a package for $1069.

What timeframe are you looking to do this? We need to have a wrenching day as one of the meet ups.

Well, I have snow in Corvallis. I can only imagine how much is on the Peak. I should probably pick up some chains to go with my bald mudders.

guys what is the best dealership around for having different TSB's done without them giving you a bunch of shit?? cap Toyota is the worst. i have no problem going to Portland or Eugene. i am only 8000 miles until i am out of warranty and i need to get the rear TSB, the steering TSB and some warranty work for door and side mirror rattles taken care of.

    thanks

i say just call the ones around you, tell them whatever story you think they need to hear to do the TSB work. Saves from driving all around and getting no's.

So far Royal Moore and Beaverton Toyota have been good for me.

I'm having mine done at Broadway Toyota this Thursday. They had me bring it in at 8am Tuesday. They called me by noon to tell me the parts were being ordered and would be at their shop Wednesday. They're doing it Thursday (because I couldn't bring it in Wednesday).

No hassle. I had the printed TSB in hand when I went in and told them it wasn't driving well when I had even a moderate load in the box.

Thanks Chickenmunga. I don't really have a time frame as to when I'd like this done so I'm sure I could wait until a wrenching meet. My time frame is very flexable. I also noticed the ICON group buy and thought about an ICON stage 1 but that might be overkill, I just don't know.

Depends what you want out of it. I can't see where I'd need more, but then again I haven't experienced anything different, either.

Can't really plan a meet if there's no parts to put on :p

what i am afraid of is i already have an AAL so i am worried they will just say no. the steering one should be a no brainer but not for cap toyota!

Cap is the worst. Try explaining the situation to Royal Moore, the service guys there are pretty level headed. Basically, there's a TSB that exists, you don't have the part that your vehicle should have come with, common sense. If they have push back, tell them you will take the AAL out and come right back with the same story.

In my experience, personal anxiety over what might happen has been worse than what actually happened.

Oops, I misunderstood you. I thought you meant that we could possibly tackle my project at the next wrenching meet, not that we could make my project a wrenching meet. I guess either way I'll need to decide what I want and get the required parts before hand :)

Boy do I have a lot of reading to do to come to that conclusion...

depending when we have this "mod" day/drink beer and BS, i may have a project. I have to prep and paint my bumper, also add one little uniqe touch to it. Its not really a big task to do since theirs only 16 bolts to take off, then 8 to put on. :) plus the plate and crap.... :D
