I searched the thread but I’m surprised no one has posted this stuff yet. I think the name is kind of fitting for this forum. Was pretty tasty, but I preferred the Chicken Cock and Yama behind it.

This stuff comes recommended from sources I trust. Apparently, it's younger stuff (4-5 years) but Peerless uses a low barrel-entry proof that keeps things from being astringent. Peerless does distill their own whiskey, unlike many smaller producers.

It's Uncut/Unfiltered, and I am always curious about/a sucker for that.

 

Quick Summary:

It's good, but it's not $80/bottle good.

They may have something that warrants that price point if they release some 8-10 year product down the road. Right now they're selling a bourbon in the neighborhood of RR10 or Smoke Wagon Small Batch, both of which are $30-40 less expensive. I love that they're doing a high-quality process behind the scenes. I recognize that getting a smaller distillery up and running presents a dilemma as far as keeping cash flowing while distillate ages. I hope it works out long term, because with some more age this could be some excellent stuff.

But as it stands, no. And if they bump the price when they get older liquid on the market, no.


Edit: An afterthought: As compared to something else in the price range, for example Booker's, it's no contest. Booker's wipes this off its windshield without even slowing down.

 

I completely agree. For the price I really liked the bottle lol, but the juice inside was too “sharp” for my tastes. Usually that happens from it being young, so that’s probably the case here.

 

I passed on it a few months back. Had some buddies say similar things. Seems hyped some places. Was not $80 where I saw it though, either $60 or $65.

 

Seems to be in that range. My bottle was $70, saw their rye for $60 but passed on it

1000% markup, I would rather buy the orange hybrid Tundra Pro in that other thread…crazy.

 

But they're on sale from the usual 1125% markup!
