With respect to side-view mirrors and BSM function, one thing the Subaru team got right is a large lamp at the side of the mirror assemblies facing the windows. When it lights up, it grabs your attention with your peripheral view. The little lamp behind the Toyota mirrors is not as effective getting one's attention. Better than nothing. Even with good scanning behaviors, someone on a motorcycle may come up on you between lanes.

Interestingly, my wife was behind the wheel of the Subaru tonight, and backing up, two cars triggered the Rear Crossing Traffic Alert function. And she thought me insisting on the tech package in the Toyota including these two features made no sense.

Explaining one is "right" to their spouse sometimes is not worth the trouble... But if it helps either of us avoid a collision or tagging a pedestrian - it's paid for itself. Cannot tell you how many times in a parking lot, people walking behind the Subaru were looking at their cell phones.

Very helpful safety automation IMHO. On the flip-side, personally my wife and I have no intention to use adaptive cruise, nor cruise control automation, ever, ever, ever.

285/75/r16 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T’s, Extang 2.0 hard tonneau tri-fold. Billstein 5100’s front/rear with OME 886 coils and Headstrong off-road 3 leaf progressive AAL. All speakers replaced with Kicker CS Series. BulletPoint Taco Bar with stubby CB mic holder and two-way FRS/GMRS radio holder. Uniden PRO505XL 40 ch CB. RCI engine and transmission skid plates. RCI sliders. Garmin Mini Dash Cam 2. CMC by Milogen Fabrication.
All good stuff! However, I like the adaptive cruise control as I am on my third meniscus tear in my right knee. On longer trips on the freeway it takes the pressure off of my knee and the radar does an excellent job of slowing the vehicle when either someone merges onto the freeway ahead of me or the vehicle ahead slows down.

I tend to agree with you  as the same thing happened to the WT floor mats in wife's SUV (two edges of the rear mats somehow warped/deformed ) and I am in SoCal. Once I get tired of my taco's OEM floor mats, I'm definitely replacing them with Husky instead.

Same thing crossed my mind, where does everyone live, what climate, makes sense. Weather tech is a solid choice in New England in my opinion.

I started with my custom 8020.net bed slide. I have a parts list for it from my order if anyone wants to make their own? It's pretty easy to put together.

Then got the larger partner stove. No reason to not get the big one, it fits and is just as good of counter space when closed as stove when open. But I wanted to put another panel in the top slot to inset the stove so it stays in place.

Then got a custom hose setup so quick disconnect on two ends.

Got the larger Radius Outfitters 5500 box. It works better with the stove being what it is.

Packed up my goodies and headed to Yakima Washington (5 hrs). A friend and I installed the RetraxOne Mx cover and Tyger Fury side steps. Looks great. Next….black bumper end covers arrived today. ❤️

Put the Tacoma to use as a truck today.
    85” Sony from Costco:

Gonna be a busy weekend getting that shiplap installed, painted and then the new TV mounted. My old 65” Sony is going in my office. Getting all the major things completed before we move into the new home.

    Great minds think alike!
Do you remember when the monument was more of a relic? I wanted to drive the truck right between the old relic stones for a great picture. But when I got there it was all built up and touristy. :(

    Little update from this -
I’m actually very impressed! Without the gauge and being in s4 going up long long hills, I originally thought I was really heating shit up.
With the gauge, the trans did not exceed 190°, engine did not exceed 200°. Im impressed, even with the small factory trans cooler.
Now, offroading I noticed the IAT go from 80 ish to 150 lol.
I like to monitor IAT as well since I used to race lol

the above was done on 35s, rear tire carrier with full size spare, 150 qt cooler loaded to the gills, and all the typical fishing camping crap

That is a fine job on the sound deadening material. Wish I had the patience to do the same.
