Alright I can finally get a taco! Sold my 01 frontier yesterday and goin to look at a tacoma this weekend. Heres the link to the truck http://medford.craigslist.org/cto/2221065370.html
Looks really clean. I offered 11k for it, the lady said she don't know if she will go lower than 12k. 12k is a lot but these trucks are hard to come by and if the truck is as nice in person as it is in the pics then I just might be willing to pay 12k. Does 12k seem overpriced? Ran a carfax, 4 previous owners, frame sprayed in '03, timing belt done at 106,000 miles. What you guys think?

try to meet at 11.5k...I agree. Maybe even lower.

Mine cost 8k, it had 148000 on the clock (slightly more that that one), but it's got all options and came with King coilovers, rock sliders, and mud king tires on crawler rims.

So you should be able to get it for under 12

Hopefully they budge on the price. Prices are really steep around here. Theres a 04 dc 4x4 trd about an hour away from me in Redding,ca at a dealer for 16,995....and a 02 for 14,995. Peep the prices round here http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/searchresults.jsp?lastBeginningStartYear=1981&num_records=25&search_lang=en&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&search_type=both&distance=500&address=96067&marketZipError=false&make=TOYOTA&model=TACOMA&make2=&start_year=2001&end_year=2004&min_price=&max_price=&seller_type=b&transmission=&engine=6+Cylinder&drive=4+wheel+drive&doors=&fuel=&max_mileage=&color=&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&keywords_display=&sort_type=priceDESC&body_code=0&certified=&advanced=y&highlightFirstMakeModel=&showZipError=n&default_sort=newsortbyprice_DESC&awsp=false&systime=&rdm=1298519135162

Alright went an seen the truck yesterday. It's super clean inside and out. It was snowing and like 30 degrees out so it was a pretty cold startup but the truck made a loud squeal. Assuming it's a belt? The sound completely went away after the truck warmed up a little bit. I restarted the the truck a couple times but couldn't duplicate the noise. Other than that the truck is perfect, its owned by an older lady. She said she has people lined up to see is this weekend so I told her I'd put 4k down monday for her to hold it. Should the squeal noise be a concern or would/should that b a quick fix?

If it's what you want, then go for it. 12k is about right. Bet it would go 16k on a dealers lot.
