Purportedly the last 2 digits preceding the last letter in your (temp) vin indicate build week. Purportedly last week ( week of Sept 5th) was build week 33 making this week 34 which seems to be postponed to Sept 21. For my truck at least.

Above week alignment info was provided kindly by

Which factory (11th position in your VIN: M=Tijuana and T=Guanajuato)?

My build was scheduled for Week 34 in Guanajuato; it was built on 06-Sep-2022.

After the first truck was delayed for a month past the delivery date, I switched to another that is supposed to arrive by today. Trying to remain optimistic but this process/delays are frustrating. @Rod03 Could you do me a favor and please check 3TYCZ5AN2NT097771.

I appreciate what you do for us Rod and I bought you a couple of beers for your troubles. Thanks man!

My truck was a week 33 build. When I first got my allocation it was due October 14. That dropped down to as low as September 27, went back up to October 3. When my truck was built last week it moved to October 3. So it is a moving target, at least in SET territory. Since they do update it I hope it will be accurate in the end.

Mine is M. Tijuana. Very interesting decrypting the VIN. So per my dealer my Tijuana truck due for build this past week (again per VIN) has been postponed to 9/21. Anyone else?

I can only see the spec sheet, looks like it was build on 08/24. Dont have any other details.

My thought exactly. It wasn't supposed to be like this. According to the cap dealer, the cap was supposed to come in a few weeks after the truck. But Leer seems to be getting ahead of their backlog and their lead time is improving. (Also according to the dealer.) ARE caps, on the other hand, are still taking months to get delivered.

You guys got me curious. I found this website. Plug in your VIN. It's interesting what you get back.

Or build your own cheat sheet:

    All Tacoma VINs (positions 1-11):
    • 01) 3 = Mexico
    • 02) T = Toyota
    • 03) Y = Passenger Vehicle
    • 04) ? = Cab and drive train descriptor
    • 05) Z/X = Engine: Z = 2GR-FKS (V6) - X = 2TR-FE (I4)
    • 06) # = Safety equipment: (i.e. Seat Belts and Airbags)
    • 07) A = Tacoma
    • 08) N = Tacoma
    • 09) # = Check Digit
    • 10) N/P = Model Year: N = 2022 - P = 2023
    • 11) T/M = Factory: T = Guanajuato - M = Tijuana

    Temporary VINs (positions 12-17):
    • 12) # = 1st digit of the build week number
    • 13) # = 2nd digit of the build week number
    • 14) ? = Random Alpha character indicating "Temporary VIN"
    • 15) # = Serialized (or possibly Random) numeric
    • 16) # = Serialized (or possibly Random) numeric
    • 17) # = Serialized (or possibly Random) numeric

    Permanent VINs (positions 12-17):
    • 12) # = 1st digit of the serial number
    • 13) # = 2nd digit of the serial number
    • 14) # = 3rd digit of the serial number
    • 15) # = 4th digit of the serial number
    • 16) # = 5th digit of the serial number
    • 17) # = 6th digit of the serial number

Hi @Rod03 I’ve gotta new 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport 4wd MT on the way that I paid for, it’s about 26 days out from being delivered to the allocated dealer however the only VIN I still have for the truck is: 3TYCZ5AN3NT33B274 would you mind looking into it’s whereabouts? I feel a permanent VIN should’ve been provided by my dealership by now, I’d love to look at the specs or pics of the truck I’ve purchased and better idea of ETA..if you have a moment. Ty

I'm curious, when you say "...that I paid for"; are you saying you've fully paid for the entire vehicle at this point, or that you've put down a cash deposit?
