Done by me: decals, plastidip, and vinyl. More to come. Not done by me: Icon front/rear suspension; Total Chaos UCA’s; Method wheels/34” Falken tires; Prinsu cab rack/LED light bar; V1Air compressor piped to a 2.5 gallon underbed tank; Pelfreybilt front/rear bumpers; Smittybilt front winch.
Currently doing the ECGS bushing swap, and while removing the seal on the differential case this guy comes out also.

One of the guys in my local group said it goes with the seal and I need it, but not where. Can anyone help me out on this? I can’t see it on any diagrams, and I could only find one other post about it that didn’t have much. Thanks!

Get a new seal. Should run about $20 for OEM. The spring supplies tension around the shaft. It’s internal to (part of) the seal.

Sweet. Thankfully I’m the type of person that just swaps out everything consumable during a project, so I’m glad I ordered that with the bushing!

thanks for the help and quick reply!!

Looked at the new seal and finally found that little spring, it’s well hidden for sure!

for anyone else that ever runs across this question, here’s a picture of the spring in the new seal: BDEA8BAD-BF1A-46C3-B567-BAB262D13F7C.jpg

Pack some grease in the cavity where the spring is, that'll help it stay put when you install it. Don't be afraid to really fill it up with grease, it won't hurt anything. I'll use dialectic or caliper grease

I bought the install tool that ECGS sells for the seal, went in like a charm. Thanks for the tip though, hopefully it may help someone else if they run into this!
