my buddy had one in hs and had to order parts by vanogan.

Lots of fun and exciting ideas in this old thread to get rid of squeaks. Personally I'd start simple: jack up frame and let rear droop, power wash between leafs, and use some lithium grease (Super Lube, Prothane, etc).

Thanks for this. That is exactly how I diagnosed the noise. I tried dropping the rear hard with the jack but that didn't replicate it. Jacking up one side and jouncing the suspension did however. So I cleaned between the leaves and greased them up and the noise went away. Using a rubber strip from an inner tube seems like an interesting fix...I'll keep reading through that thread for more ideas.

Guess I'm going to have to read also, the squeak is real.

Have one. Used it lots. Sucks offroad-can't see squat behind you. Moved it up top and been happy ever since.

Must be weird-don't really mind the squeak... Though the quiet of NEW springs is satisfying.

So here's a question. How much is a stock 3 gen rear bumper assembly worth? Complete with blind spot monitors, back up sensors, wire harnesses, and trailer hitch. I don't want to give it away but also want to it be gone, don't have room to store it.

Depends on how bad you want it gone. That is a bucket of cash to replace, so maybe start at $500 and see what happens. Mine is in the lawnmower shed until said time I can find a place for it that isn't under foot.

I still have my stock front bumper. It's mostly out of the way up in the garage rafters. I would like to get rid of it. But, it's just one of those things a person hangs on to because,,,just in case.

@Supr4Lo has enough IG points already.

Ha, I have 2 IG accounts and neither have any pics or videos.

I was surprised how heavy the stock rear bumper was. Not sure if I could get it up into the garage rafters. Plus that space is already full of other crap.

Probably just need a new bigger garage.

Interesting. I wonder if that’s my squeak too.

Thanks to Ted Nugent, The Ramones, ZZ Top, The Clash and several others, I don't hear no stinkin' squeeks.

i’ve really put some thought into the logic of this statement…and I think it’s an air-tight argument. It really would be like a free bumper.
