That is an awfully useful piece of kit to be holding a mailbox.:confused:

I got one years ago at an auction.
The problem with them is that while awesome when in use they are huge and awkward to store. :benchpress:

    Same problem.

I got tired of tripping over it and sold it for $15 in a garage sale.

I don't think I miss the pipe vice.

Any pipe work I do now, I just weld the pipe to the fab table and go from there.

Got my ladder stand up today, trimmed all the branches I needed to for shooting, then trimmed a huge pile in our "campground" area. I also threw a couple of planks across a little creek to get to my stand, and put a borrowed trail cam up. Yesterday I rust proofed the truck with cosmoline, and made a salt cellar? / dispenser thingy for the missus from a chunk of ash. I'm felling pretty productive. :D

I ran 1/2" & 3/4" black iron in the garage for compressed air, hand threaded all of it with a Rigid ratcheting hand threader -- in factories you always have a power threader, all that hand threading is an @$$ kicker. :bananadead:
Job would have been much less convenient without the tri-stand.

When I made my post, this exact scenario was in my mind.

I just tack welded the 3/4" black iron to the table and commenced to hand threading.

It only took me 2 tries to figure out what side the tacks needed to be placed, otherwise the torque from the die would bend back the tacks and break the pipe free from the table.

Wife bought a nice filing cabinet at goodwill for $5. I told Cole to back it to the store. He did it in one try and didn’t have to pull up or stop. He does great considering his 1965 mower has a 1/4 round of play in the steering :D

I said okay, I see your $5 purchase and raise you a full set of cultivators, belly plow, drawbar, (all for a Farmall Cub) and 2 ratchet straps. I don’t even own a Cub :anonymous:

Make him some side view mirrors, then have him do it without turning around.

    Gotta keep him challenged.

Dad taught me to back up using the mirrors only, still do it today unless I’m backing up a trailer.

Good early Sunday morning Wrenchmen, Technicians, Consultants & other Manly Men of somewhat related tendencies. :hattip:

Being up at this hour (got out of bed at 4:32 actually) wasn't on my short list of things to do today... at least I made it that far. :notsure:

Probably fall asleep here in the chair about dawn...

I went to get into bed last night, pulled the sheets back, then turned the light on for no reason at all. And there sat, in the same spot I laid the night before, a half dollar sized spider calmly waiting as though he was plotting on me. After the initial shock wore off, I knew I had to make an example of this unruly arachhnid. I smushed him, and then I went to work. I took a lighter to him and left him sitting outside, hoping his cousins might catch a wiff of his death stench and think twice. Touching hate spiders.

    -thermacell works wonders...

Thermacell is a life saver here. Deer opens on Oct 1st, so the bugs are pretty much gone by then, but turkey was pretty tough before they were around. I don't think I could go back. :annoyed:

What all do you hunt? It’s interesting to me what other people hunt in different parts of the world. Deer, turkey, and squirrel is about it for us. We used to dove hunt but they’ve built so many houses around we haven’t shot them in 10 years.

When we go to where we hunt I let him drive the truck from the gate to the food plot, when he backs up he looks at the camera in the Tacoma and I tell him to use the mirrors too. I rarely use the camera to back up, most of the times it’s the mirrors.
