Nice! I haven't gotten an inspection in... 5 years! :fingerscrossed:

Spent most of the morning/afternoon getting my new rubber on! Went as smooth as spooning tires can go = no weights needed on the rear and only minimal on the front, all bearings look/feel good, and I was a little shocked to find needle bearings staring me in the face at one point. Removed the sprocket and cush rubbers and there was a spacer tube still sticking out the hub. Never seen that before so I pulled it out and there they were, all snug and nestled in there. Cleaned the old, black grease off 'em, coated with new, stuck the spacer back and it stayed in place while I wrangled the tire on. I was worried it was going to come out at some point and I'd end up with a bunch of tiny metal rods to clean and stick back!

Oh, and this was the first tire change I'd done since my accident on the F4i. When I went out to get them scrubbed in, my knee started really twinging. Psychosomatic weirdness! And that leads to a question: To scrub the tires in, I rode my favorite backroad supermoto style (for increased bike lean angle) and it seemed to work very well, particularly on the tighter radius turns. Might try this hybrid style at the track in Oct.!

If it was a good group of guys I would keep going. Nothing wrong with working on your slow speed techniques. They help a lot on the trails.

Nothing exciting on the bike yet but I installed a Puig visor and a forkshield from swegotech. Also went ahead and cleaned, clay barred and ceramic coated the bike. Wanted to get it done before I start to really ride this bike. Foot pegs and quick shifter should be here Monday and I have a seat concept’s seat on order.

It's weird and seems counter-intuitive but slow speed practice does translate to higher speed proficiency. I always feel more confident after spending some time doing parking lot drills.

For that entry fee, I'd stick around for a few sessions. Who knows, maybe you could make some helpful suggestions?

Wore a flannel today, it's starting to feel like Fall, so in that spirit I ordered a new set of hippo hands for this year. My older model ones weren't stitched all the way through on the inside so the liner started pulling away from the outside portion and flopping weird. Went with the backcountry smaller model, we'll see how i like them compared to the rogue midsize ones I currently have. The neoprene around the handlebars looks like it'll seal up better than the old velcro, too.

Realized this morning I've put over 13k miles on my FJR so far this year. Just back from a FJR1300 meet in Flatwoods, WV that had over 80 FJR owners attend including people from Canada, Maine, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Ohio, PA, New Jersey, New, York, Michigan, North and South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Maryland, California, and New Mexico. Will try to post some pics later after work.

Successful weekend of riding twisties, telling tall tales, saluting lost friends, with no serious accidents or injuries and no performance awards.

I mean, they didn't provide us with motorcycle parking. My boss just shook her head. She knows I won't change

I'm really liking the graphics. Once the aftermarket starts making white plastic kits, I'll redo it with a custom kit.....might even paint the wheels gold :D

Love it. Parking is tight in the office, so we bikers decided one day to just start parking under the shady tree in the dead space in front of our bosses window. He seems to be OK with it, and even parked his there once. #Winning
