Bilstein 6112's 5th clip 1/4" spacer driver's side. Icon tubular UCA's with Delta joint, wheelers superbumps, ECGS bushing. Allpro standard leaf packs, 5160's, U bolt flip kit with wheelers super bump's, extended stainless steel brake lines, carrier bearing drop. Icon rebounds 17" with Nitto terra grappler G2's 285/70/17's.
Thank you! There were many reasons I lifted it like I did. It rides like stock without the rolls and dives of stock suspension, but takes serious bumps way better. The nittos aren't very aggressive, but they don't make any noise and are SL's that weigh in at 44.53lbs each. Not a lot more than stock. They absorb the little road bumps that everybody fusses about, leaving the bilsteins to absorb the harsh stuff. It's doing well as far as mpg's are concerned too, I've been averaging between 21 and 22mpg with this setup. It's more money to go this way, but to me it is worth it. Hope this helps.

As another newbie at this, I appreciate this thread! I've been trying to do research on lift (types, amount/height, geometry changes, etc.) suspension (shocks, leaf spring packs, airbags, bump stops, UCAs, etc) / tires / wheels / wheel offsets and it's very easy to end up going down very deep rabbit holes and ending up in utter and complete analysis paralysis.

I've been pulling the basics together like how much weight will go onto the truck - rack, camping supplies, potentially RTT (will probably start with a ground tent as I have that equipment and work into the RTT as the budget allows), pull-out kitchen. I've also been putting together the weights of potential armor, sliders, bumpers, winch, recovery gear, etc. I've been matching that up with the intent of the build which is a somewhat capable two-track / trail camping rig - not so much a tricked-out rock crawling rig (although there is definite build envy for some of the true overland rigs out there!) as I'm in the Great Lakes and it will be more forestry trails and mud / sand than the rock gardens of Moab - and to be an acceptable daily driver. My intent is to let the weight and use case drive the lift / suspension / tire / wheel selections.

Hearing the process that others have gone through for selecting the type of lifts and suspensions along with the tire / wheel combinations is very helpful!

Howdy! You can check out more details/pics on my Black Widow Build Thread, but I would recommend the Toytec Aluma Series 3” lift kit with SPC UCAs. I have the exact wheels and tires you want in a 285/70R17. I did not have to have a CMC done. Hope this helps!

thank you very much. I’m super happy with my choices and have gotten a ton of compliments on how it looks. I got the lift on a Labor Day special and that really helped with cost. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Going any higher than 2" will eventually cause front end suspension issues. Going the Bilstein 5100 up front @ 2" will get rid of the annoying front end brake dive. Better ride on & off road!

Fine choice, basically the same Bilsteins, but the 5100s are much cheaper than the TRD lift.

I'm currently using the Toytech 2.5 BOSS series kit. Like thw fa t I get a customer service rep everytime I call or email. Plus the fact they are out of Denver, CO.
I've also used Bilstien and OME on previous Tacomas with great results.
I would LOVE to own a set of KINGS, for many reasons. But have not yet, so can't speak on them.
I have avoided ICON for reasons also, but have not own a set to speak on.

Yeah. Nothing changed. Gas mileage the same. Didn’t drag down the truck. The parts cost $55 bucks. Inexpensive. I like it.

And it doesn’t mess with the suspension geometry of the truck: Needle bearings; sway bar; etc,

Would you mind posting the make and source for the spacer and block/shim you used? Thanks.

I avoid saying manufacturers because I thought the moderators frowned up that as an advertisement.

I am not affiliated with this company in any which way.

It’s a company I bought online called something like: 4 Wheel OffRoad.

My first post here I have pictures of the install and the remaining thread on the top plate spacers and Ubolts.

I “think” a Tacoma can go up to a 1/2 inch top plate spacer (1 inch lift in the front) and 3/4 inch rear block/shim (if they even make that size). Without affecting the suspension geometry of the truck.

I know that increase can be done without new top plate studs or rear unbolts.

Wish I could find my first post. It has all the measurements.

Hope I made sense? I never do.

I would love to see this lift on a double cab long bed TRD.
