So I just my Dobinsons suspension and was putting the rear shocks on. While tightening the top the allen spun in the shaft and now it's stripped. It will take a quite a few more turns to properly tighten the shock.

Anyone have an idea of what to try? I teally don't want to cut or weld something on there. I thought about a 3 sided clamp but don't want to deform the shock body.

Just hold the body of the shock with your hand while tightening the nut.

One of those strap wrenches works pretty good too.

I used this method on the second shock and it went on very easy after I got the paint off the threads. Seems the the first one has a burr on the threads that is causing the issue which lead to the original problem. I ordered a die to try and clean them up. I ordered a m10-1 die. Does that sound right?

BTW, really appreciate you and your team at Exit Offroad. You put me on the setup!

Use the weight of the axle hanging to help stop the shock from turning, let the jack down.

Happens, strap wrench is your friend. If you don't have one large pliers and a rag will do the trick.
