Man, I don't know, but that sort of thing happens to me too.

If it is possible, it might be best to buy Jim's Ridgeline, and keep your truck as well. I know people hate on them here, but they are great vehicles, just balanced more for what people do 95% of the time.

Aside from the fact that I am sitting in the truck with the door open and no seatbelt on, no warning lights...

Anyway, back to business. The truck is at normal operating temperature and the heat still isn't working...

The coolant level is low. Fill it up and see if the heat comes back.

Then find where the leak is. If no external leaks are found then the headgasket is suspect

I feel like the heater wants to work, as there's like a slight hint of of warmth, but it is just blowing cold humid air...

get foamy engine degreaser and wash out your whole engine bay.

this way, you can see if there's a leak (powdery white dried up coolant) you won't find a leak in a dirty engine bay.

drain your coolant, fill with distilled water, add a spoon of dish soap after filling with water.
idle until the guage is 1/3 hot.

let it cool back down and drain.

fill again with distilled water and same process. this way, you are fully flushing, better than any shop will do.

fill and burp with pink coolant.

residue could be stuck in your heater core. or whole system

replace the radiator cap. it's only $20

this should start your elimination of what is not the problem.

do you have a misfire code or a wet spark plug? check them all .

The overflow reservoir only works as designed if there are no leaks anywhere

The coolant expands into the reservoir when it heats up, when it cools back down it gets sucked back into the radiator. But if there's a leak somewhere else in the cooling system it'll suck air instead of the reservoir coolant. That's why checking coolant level at radiator is more helpful when dealing with a possible leak

There's obviously enough coolant in the system to keep the truck from overheating with the A/C on though?

Radiator cap is brand new, and it just passed emission last week. My mechanic had the OBD scanner connected and it threw no codes...

Ok, coolant does slowly over time, just evaporate.
If the reservoir was low, it could of sucked in air as it cooled over time on shutoff. Fill the tank with water, and the reservoir. It will need changed anyway, and if there is a problem, no need to worry about perfect mix today. Run it and watch.
