Is the 1 year warranty (getting it after purchase) only valid if its installed at a dealer?

Installed the kit this weekend and did alignment. Today I swapped to the heritage grill and put in the new supplied sensor, got down the street and the pre collision system lights popped up. Curious if anyone else has had this issue. Debating whether I should just put the original sensor back in and add washers or if there is a simpler fix that uses the provided sensor. Any input would be appreciated.

I put just the lift without the grill and sensor and everything works fine.

yeah everything was fine until today when I swapped the grill. I really wanted the heritage grill which was part of the reason for just buying the whole kit instead of piecing together an aftermarket equivalent since I have the stock 360 camera I figured it best just to get the oem grill with camera bracket included. I’m debating just swapping the old sensor back in and seeing if that fixes the issue.

I'm willing to bet the old sensor will work. I would think the new one would need to be calibrated. When I installed an after market grill on my truck it moved the sensor up 3 inches and I've had zero issues with it.

Well, just swapped back to the original tss sensor turned on the truck and it instantly was resolved. Took it on a 5 mile loop and the light is still off so I guess only time will tell.

The trd lift on a 2wd 4 cyl. Bought the kit from Sparks toyota then paid a shop to do the coils and shocks. Then installed the new miliwave radar and the grille. Dash lit up saying see the dealer. They had to calibrate it.
All in all not worth the money but the ride is improved, a little and now I can slide under the truck without getting stuck.
Note: put the circlips in the bottom slots and only got a tad over 1"lift. In the next life they will go in the 2nd, middle slot.20220918_111113.jpg

The new sensor has to be calibrated for it to work correctly.

Does it require a factory scan tool or can it be done with aftermarket?

I had the exact same issue. I did not reuse the old sensor, ended up having the dealership calibrate the sensor for 360 bucks. I did the install, still well worth it. (and I know the kit was installed right with all the torue specs).

Why not just get these installed at an indy shop? I feel like 1 year warranty is nothing and not worth the dealer install prices

For me I’m going to go to dealer because the price is so similar. I got quoted $1900 installed from the dealer but then to buy the kit alone is $1200, and the Indy shop would be 4-600 so I’d rather fork over the extra $300 and have a warranty, plus if I ever sell having the lift done by a dealer might help but who knows

gotcha, the 1900 is pretty good. I got the kit for 1200 and my local shop labor rate is around 100 so I’m thinking it will cost around 400 for the install. Although I do think it might be a better idea to have Toyota specialists do it especially with the tss.

Is it mean to say I got my kit from a dealer that was written off as a "loss" because his technician tore the sticker off a shock installing the spring... not bad for $250. Just need to get the rear equipment and slap it on the old taco

I'm not finding many 33's in this thread. Is it pretty much a guarantee to get rubbing on this lift?
