I am the complete opposite from you, I will gladly complain about the heat, but if it is -5°F outside, I can layer up and be okay (granted, it rarely ever gets that low, just making a point).

And I 100% agree on the cost of living increases, they have been/are still becoming nuts!

Compared to even Mass, RI could do better. Woonsocket is probably the worst. One year, there was almost no budget for snow cleanup, so after a good storm, the roads were still covered in snow almost a week after the surrounding towns were down to pavement. The city was asking anyone with a plow to help clean the roads. I'm in Cranston now, so hopefully it'll be better. One time, I was in Albany a day after a storm. I couldn't believe how clean the roads were, even the sidewalks were clear.

I had Safelite fix a pretty big chip months ago. They did a good job, but I just got another chip in pretty much exactly the same place. When I was cleaning the windshield I noticed I have probably a dozen tiny chips all over the place. So, today it's getting replaced with a new Ford/Carlex OEM. Normally, I don't care but this truck has the acoustic SoundScreen glass, rain sensing wipers, deicers, and the cameras mounted behind the rearview mirror so I didn't want to take chances.

Have some 29s on it right now, still needs some work but solid for the most part. 22re, 5spd, 245k miles, hard and soft tops, working tailgate with working glass window, fiberglass bedsides, painted 2 years ago

I HATE the climate here. Been here 6 years this time. At this time, it is better for my family if I suffer this shit.

We are always looking to get away from, winter...
I'd rather spent 16hours a day, in full FR, in a running unit at a refinery, than will trying to get to a valve station in 2 feet of snow on a white roof....
    BUT....

My first time fishing a Flat Fall Butterfly Jig. The fish we all over it. Caught Black Sea Bass and Scup in Fishers Island Sound, NY. I plan on giving this lure some more fishing time.

Any other folks here using this type of jig ?

(Photo background is a Tacoma tailgate, so its pertinent at more than one level.)

I like fishing jigs like that for bottom fish. It’s much more exciting than other methods. I put a small piece of fish bites strips on each hook. Works great.

I will take the whiskey as I will need it after trying to follow those dam instructions, a child can figure it out better than an adult.

You all need to check out Vermont some time - VTrans does not have a "bare roads' policy, meaning there is no guarantee that any road will be cleared during a storm but it will be maintained for safe travel at reasonable speed and it could be a day or two following a storm before the highways are bare. Towns and cities each have their own policies, but are in a lot of cases woefully understaffed and under-equipped. The result of this is many roads - especially dirt ones - will be covered in snow for days or weeks following a storm. The highways and well traveled roads will wind up bare pretty quickly due to vehicle traffic and salt, but it is nothing like what I used to see down in southern New England as far as plows running to clean up for days after a good storm.

    "Is it passable?"
    "Yes."
"Okay, we're done. We may be back next week with a wing plow or a road grader to push back the banks a few feet if there's another storm on the way."

I caught myself in that trap. Put together a grill for my inlaws. "These instructions aren't that bad, they make sense" Then remembered "You need a degree in engineering to understand this damn thing"

So those "bad roads" are traveled by like, 6 people, and they all have trucks and/or SUVs and/or subarus. If all of RI drove trucks, SUVs, or soobies, we'd be fine. Instead we have these s#$& stains.

That's how I grew up, I lived on secondary roads in upstate NY, we could snowmobile on the street for a good day after a storm before they maybe got around to us. They'd get there, but you just had to take your time during the winter months.

Except when all those Yahoos head up here for skiing and snowboarding on the weekends/holidays. I'm far enough north that the casual skiers don't often venture into this neck of the woods, and the resorts we frequent are far enough out of the way and cater to the more 'hardcore' skiers and riders, that even on holidays and long weekends we don't see too many of those guys. But I've watched with great amusement while packing up my gear in the parking lots all over as those types of folks struggle to get their vehicles unstuck, and even yanked a handful of them out after having my laughs. I'll throw a couple of soft shackles and snatch strap on the back floor of the truck all winter for easy access just for this purpose.
