Third generation is usually the one that kills it. Second usually sees the hard work the first generation had to do and doesn’t want to disappoint. The third coasts haha

That’s because he’s a revolutionary and those type don’t follow the rules, they make them. Well, If he’s not too busy suing for wrongful installation though.

I was wondering if anyone else caught that! Legal jargon: Hey if you don't rep us right it's cuz you didn't install it right.

I saw that earlier. That thread went from interesting to hard to watch. Apparently every kit except RCLT is made for 285s and lighter duty and he calls himself the heir of rock crawling. Made me cringe a little after called out brands by name. Does he want to stop all future business?

The vague threats of getting lawyers involved or whatever further sealed the deal for me. Nothing makes me shrivel like mentioning attorneys. Except maybe the word patent.

I wonder who has more kits out there? Marlin or JD. I'll bet I know the answer considering he can't ever deliver product. The simple fact JD has more kits out there with zero issues says the JD kit is more tried and true.

    Too many to remember
Especially when you factor in that we have been producing production kits for 22years now :)

The funny part is one of our first kits ever produced (which is still a huge seller today) is for the 84-95 Toyota truck. This kit pushes the tires forward 1.5”, has custom fabricated spindles with vertical uniballs, D44 snouts and a steering kit that is WAY stronger than any one-ton steering system ever made. So was that the worlds first? Lol

Whats even funnier is that between us, camburg, chaos, BTF and dirt king we are all friends. We all have the upmost respect for each other and all make amazing products. We all also have different business models and do things differently but you will NEVER see us hating on each other, only showing respect for the craft. It’s also ironic that all of these companies have been making production long travel kits for years, not trying for the first time.

Except for TC he was on their nuts like a HS loosing his first GF to a better dude. Makes me wonder who's actually making his kits

I just spent an unnecessary amount of time reading through a thread pertaining to his kits and calling him out. He reminds me of that shady car salesman that thinks you're too stupid to see the bullshit he's feeding. Makes me question the legitimacy of anything they sell at this point.

If they had been transparent from the get go, they wouldn't have had the backlash they are dealing with now. Instead they had none: multiple delays, the optics of influencers getting their hands on stuff ahead of the early adopters, and a plethora of findings contrary to their claims. Then when the contrary findings started to pop up they backpedaled a little, then doubled down on their buzz words and mottos.
To top it all off, it's still technically experimental product. I mean they just released the low profile bumps right?

But let's leave it at that, we don't wanna turn this thread into a rock tossing competition.

Something that concerned me was the ongoing delays but yet the marketing to encourage down payments. This tactic indicated to me that the down payments were funding development and when material costs, perhaps changes in design overwhelmed their ability/capacity. I believe we also saw that they dropped the Taco Box project. This was also an indicator of the struggles they were having. All this is motivation to get creative on how to increase interest in their products. It is not new when a company tries to grow and expand, they at times bite off more than they can handle.

Especially following the fall of Pelfrey. Everyone was leary of hopping on some new ambitious pre-order + their transfer cases were already struggling to keep up with demand.

EDIT: Oh I somehow missed you mention their Taco Boxes.

Is there any reason you can’t do the pivot kit all the way forward with the LT kit if you move the steering forward, too? How much total would that be over where I sit now? I want to do full hydro with 40’s next round. Not sure what else would cause a problem moving forward more.

I thought the only issue with going full forward with 37’s and above was the tire hitting the headlights on the 2nd gens. Pretty sure full forward is 1 7/8 inches total between the pivot kit and LCA’s.

Yup. Not a chance of going forward all the way with 37's if you want headlights. I'm forward 1.125" and I don't think I could give it any more.

Oh ok I thought the stock rack location was the limiting factor. Anything extra forward would be a huge help. I don’t care about the headlights.

How far you can push things forward will be dependent on how you setup the hydro.
