Hello...general question....how many of you use the parking/emergency brake when parked? Regardless if on flat/ level ground or steep street?

    Only on an incline.

...or as an extra hold in the drive through.

    Oh boy.

You're a few days late, or early, with this one.

Regardless.... Here come the MT bros.

I only ever use mine in an AT on an incline. I've never bothered on flat. Never an issue.

My tacoma is a manual so I use it every time I park. My tundra is an automatic and I use that almost every time I park, even on a flat surface sometimes. It's mostly habit at this point.

Not many hills/inclines here for parking...but, I do periodically pull up on the parking brake...for functionality usage.

In some situations, yeah. The best way to do it if you really want to alleviate stress on the pawl is put the truck in N, engage parking brake, take foot off of brake pedal and let the truck rest on the parking brake, then put the truck into P. I only bother with this in moderately steep situations. Normally I just put it in P, engage parking brake, then release my foot from the brake pedal.

Your rear brakes adjust by use of the parking brake. Not by backing up.
If in doubt look at the brake diagram. This is not an item to start a discussion just a fact.

    Oh look, another mod....
I do, and the reason I'm going to give is going to sound really dumb. But I don't give a shit. I have a TRD OffRoad, with the auto transmission and I live in what some call "Flat land country". I pull the e-brake for nostalgic reasons. When I was growing up and learning to drive, almost all the cars I owned had the "old school" e-brake. I got into the habit of manually pulling them.

Now you buy a car and there's a BUTTON you press to engage everything, even the emergency brake. I'll also admit that when I saw the Tacoma's still had the old school e-brake, I was even more inclined to buy it.

I pull it every time I park the truck. It's a habit I formed once I bought the truck.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
I do all the time, incline or not. Leftover habit from driving a manual for good many years and good practice when you "have to" e-brake to corner better.

Only if you apply it first, let the vehicle settle on the brake, then put it in park.

Every time for every vehicle I drive (manual or automatic).

Feels as weird to not set the parking brake as it does to not put on a seatbelt.

The Tacoma has rear drum brakes; unlike disc brakes which simply displace the worn pad material with a little extra brake fluid, drum brake shoes need to be adjusted on a regular basis to keep them "high" (i.e. close to the drum, but not touching). In my years of wrenching (over 50), I've seen basically two different methods for adjusting rear brake shoes:
    1. Hitting the brakes while in reverse; I don't remember which car company patented this method, but it was mechanically pretty cool; while in reverse the brake shoes would rock on their axis in a different direction than when braking forward momentum, and this "rock" would turn an adjusting screw.
    2. Using the parking brake; the mechanism is kinda-sort similar as the first method, but it is the actuation of the parking brake which engages the adjustment mechanism.
