I keep a road cone in the bed of the truck so I can "save" my spot if I leave to go get lunch. I'm such a bad creature of habit that my coworkers leave that spot open for me

It's a 2007 yellow 4x4 with 200K(or right below it). This was months ago when prices were insane. I told her to put 12K and go from there. The only problem was a torn driver seat. I have no clue if she ever sold it. Her daughter is only 16, and wanted a smaller car like an Accord or something. Her dad gave it to her for $1. I would have bought it it prices weren't so high on them.

    Alright....

Long time moto rider (dirt and street). I have an 04 Honda 919 naked bike for my "big street bike" and love the thing, HP of a 600cc super sport (~110 to the rear wheel) and torque of a 1000cc super sport (~70ftlbs to the rear) but all in a useable street gearing / powerband - first gear and second gear power wheelies no problem - on closed course of course.

I have had it for 10+ years and put ~30k problem free miles on it mainly bashing the canyons of mailbu hills. BUT, im getting older (early 30s now - super old), wiser (yeah OOOK), But mainly want something new and more comfortable for longer distances on the road with a potential for MILD off road - if I want to do anything more than a nice fire road ill hop on the WR450 dirtbike.

I have ridden and been around the KTM adv bikes and while they are nice and make a bunch of power, KTM problems and price tag just aint my thing. I don't need or want super fancy or buku power, that stated the 2021 GS850 I rode was underwhelming in the power department so middle weight adv bikes might not do it for me. So I have narrowed down my searching:

TLDR: Im looking at the Honda Africa Twin or Yamaha Super Tenere. Who here has one and what are your thoughts on them?

    @fatfurious2

Have you considered the Tenere 700? And Honda is bringing back the Transalp 750 if a slightly lighter bike suits your fancy.

I just got a 21 Africa Twin base in November of last year. Coming from street bikes for 10 years, its amazing. I do about 50/50 street and mild offroad since im still new to 2 wheels offroad. But its been awesome so far. 5 gallon tank, cruise control, and low maintenance costs were all positive thoughts for me. Its a big bike for offroad (but i think the super Tenere is bigger, and probably best for 80/20 touring)

Im still loving it. Planning on keeping this one for a while. Im also super old - mid 30s, so it's appropriate. It has enough power for highway and plenty for offroad.

The base is aimed at more offroad friendly with tubes, "smaller" tank. The Adventure Sport is more touring, but still capable offroad. It has 6.5 gal tank, heated grips, electronic suspension, and tubless wheels, for ~$4k over the base. Both have options for DCT, but to me, no clutch was a deal breaker.

I didnt want to spend $30k+ on a bmw, the ktms look weird to me, and when i got mine, the Tenere 700 wasn't out yet. Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki were at the top of my list. I watched alot of reviews on Big Rock Moto channel too.

This is an ongoing text with @w.adventures

the T7 had just come out/I hadn't seen it when I started looking. I think its definitely a capable bike, but from what i hear/watch some things are lacking compared to my bike. No cruise control, smaller tank, etc. The ABS off button is very nice though.

The electronics/controls on mine take a sec to get used to, but once you figure them out then its pretty easy to get to the abs and traction toggle control.

If the new Transalp is anything like the T7, I'm gonna try my best to get one. I have no grips with Yamaha, but would like to stick with team Red :D. Now if the Transalp isn't up to ask with the T7, I may just have to bite the bullet.

    With this sticker kit :oldglory:

The Aprilia Tuareg is nice looking too. I'm just not familiar with European bikes and their reliabilty, so I have never gone that route.

I do love the RS 660 though

AT AS is $18k, too, that'd be the closest Honda comparison.
