Man…that brings back great memories. I lived in Oakhurst and worked out of Fish Camp. Daughter grew up riding that train. Enjoy your journey!!

My wife and I like the Mountain bike. I told her I'd drive her to the top for a nice downhill run. So many places we can't wait to see and try.

Wow that's cool you got to experience living the mountain life. I want to someday. We've been going to Bass Lake about 6 years straight for our annual family trip. Great times out there. So much to see and do

That’s awesome. We lived 12 minutes from the lake, so we spent a lot of time there. I definitely miss it. But we were fortunate to have the opportunity to live there at least for a while.

One of my favorite places. The drive south through Capitol reef is amazing.

Another successful Moab trip on the books!

Wife and I spent last weekend doing the White Rim Road in Canyonlands. Up the potash road, around the white rim, over and out mineral bottom, then across Gemini bridges. We camped the first night in Airport campground. The next night was supposed to be Potato Bottom, but being so close to the river with no access is bullshit. Plus we got there at like 3pm. So we drove on and found a great campsite above north mineral canyon right on the canyon edge. Way better.

    Great trip.

A little shade and a great view for lunch

    The green river

    Camp above Mineral Canyon

A quick lunch spot on the drive home, along the Dolores River outside of Dove Creek, CO

Moab is a grand place to play! Twenty five years ago my wife and I spent 10 days there every for about ten years mountain biking until I did a nasty endo and severed all 4 tendons in my right rotator. Had to bike out 7 miles…miserable!
We still occasionally drive through, but it has changed a lot. Still beautiful country!
deekyn, thanks for bringing back great memories!

Can't agree more! We go every other year, but I'm starting to notice these places are getting busier the last couple seasons. Anyone else picking up on that? I saw on Arches website that they are only taking " timed reservations" to get entry into the park now thru Oct 3rd. That's crazy!

as a USFS employee, we have seen since Covid, ALOT more "Outdoors Recreation" and honestly, I think overlanding and such have contributed to more people getting out. Its all of our "job" to help these people appreciate what we all already know about the outdoors and how to best appreciate it, just my 2 cents...
