Not sure what part of SoCal you're in, but I was just at OC Motorcycle over the weekend and they have a Super Tenere and an AT on the floor. Both pre-owned models. Don't recall what model year the ST was, but the AT was a 2019 with the correct gold wheels.

    Yeesh. That's scary lol.

Once, on my old Mazda3 when i was a poor teenager, I rode out a set of tires to about that bad, maybe even a little worse as I remember some of the steel threading fraying and sticking off, as I couldn't yet afford new ones. Then it rained one day, and I was slipping and sliding on the freeway. Now I tend to replace tires too early because of that lol. Luckily they never blew, but the tire shop was quite concerned about the condition I brought them in.

The 19 doesn't have the updated electronics. Some weak parts, like where the foot pegs mount on right side, were to break and needed fab work to fix. @GHOST SHIP should be able to do that, if you choose pre-2020

back on topic with some exciting motorcycle news.

Finally got my track suit in, just need to get some proper track boots and some gauntlet gloves. Hopefully going to sign up for one of keith code's track day schools in mid-late november as an early birthday present to myself

My friend Mike's Africa Twin with the appropriate gold wheels. He's still on the FJR forum because of the people but now rides this.

The blue Honda Valkyrie belongs to Tina from Florida, the 2013 FJR in front is her husband Dan's bike. Tina is a Motor Maid and rides all over the country attending Motor Maid events.

Mine is the red in front. Turned over 44k on the way down putting me at over 13k so far since January 1.

We had about 82 bikes and over 100 people at this years. Door prizes included a single Cardo com unit and a dual pack Cardo as well. A set of HVMP heavy bar end weights, a Kermit chair, passes to Barber Motorsports Museum, some hats from various manufacturers and a brand-new set of Dunlop Road Smart 3 tires in FJR appropriate sizes.

I have considered the T7 but we are taking about replacing a 110hp 70ftlbs street bike, if I want to do actual legit dirt things (and enjoy it) I have a street legal 2014 WR450 for that type of stuff. The T7 is a BEAUTIFUL bike and if I didn't have a dirtbike and only had room for one I'd probably be grabbing that. That stated I rode a 21 GS850 and it left me a bit underwhelmed in the power dept and the T7 would likely be even more so (for street riding). I'm used to just rolling on the throttle in first and power wheelie and just about the same in 2nd gear.... I know most heavy adv bikes won't ever be like this (sans say a KTM 1290) haha.

Needless to say, a middleweight adv bike probably won't fit my desires from a street handling / power / comfort perspective hence looking at the liter+ sized adv bikes. I was dead set on an FJ-09 / tracer GT till I rode one... Power of the triple was amazing but ergos suuuuucked and the wide side cases had me shin kicking them left and right. Unfortunately the super tenere just doesn't seem to be nearly as popular as the AT and the AT has some issues of its own (I'd be looking at buying used)

Admittedly only had the bike a few weeks and about 600 miles. I came from 2018 KTM 690 Enduro. My riding is about 70/30 street/dirt. I enjoy doing long distance riding and the KTM just wasn’t the correct bike. My AT is the manual adventure sports model. So far I am loving it. Great road manners, suspension is very good for something not setup specifically for me. The engine is very peppy with loads of midrange grunt. Fuel range is excellent with the 6.5 gallon tank. It is definitely a heavier bike but it handles its weight well. Overall very pleased.

Have only pushed it past 80 a couple times but it pulls well all the way to 100. I haven’t tried rolling into it in 6th though.

F850GS is about 90hp, 2019 AT is about 94hp, newer is 101hp, about the same weight. Not a huge difference IMHO. You might be disappointed in the AT's power, too.

I'm genuinely curious on why the super ten has never been popular. Just because it's road oriented and heavy? I think i've only ever seen two in real life.

I feel as though the evidence would be in the Dyno charts, the GS850 / T7 are higher strung higher revving motors that likely are more peaky power vs flater torque / power of the bigger twins of the AT and ST. It might be because the ST is much more road oriented for an "adventure" bike, but tbh in all of myotorcycling I have only met one person who actually RODE his adv bike off road in dirtbike territory, so why sacrifice so much for something you never utilize?

The ST is heavier for sure (~40lbs over the average weight of an adv bike). But it def makes torque and power down lower in the rev range.
