Were you able to get the advanced tech package as a separate add-on or did you have to get it with the premium package? Just curious, not that it'll do me any good, I already put a deposit on a premium package TRD Sport, and that was the only upgrade that had the advanced tech package I've seen so far.

I wonder if the cameras can be upgraded to higher resolution ones?

See my comment. Upgrading the camera itself will do no good as the communication method limits the resolution

What the hell!? So much for a pull out and drop-in replacement.

My truck isn't a premium. The advanced tech package was a separate standalone package (code AT). Also got the premium audio package (code EE) which added the onboard dynamic navigation and a couple of the free trial services like destination assist, remote assist, and service assist.

Damn, I would have liked to save a few bucks by skipping the leather heated seats and moonroof, but with limited supply nowadays I took the best choice I had.

Yup, you did the best with what you had. I got my truck in May of 2021 and it was a different world. The dealer had multiple trucks in stock for me to choose from and it was priced about $2,500 below MSRP. Today choices are limited and pricing is crazy. The leather and moonroof may not have been something you would have chosen to pay for if you had a choice, but unless you're will to subject yourself to an endless wait to get exactly what you wanted you really had no alternative. And I bet after you have it you will enjoy the unplanned extras! :)

What got me in the end was that they were selling at MSRP with only $1K of dealer installed options tacked on. Every other dealer around me had a market adjustment that made their cheaper models cost significantly more out the door, so heck, why not get the premium package? Yea, I could wait another year, but I need more space to haul stuff and got a good appraisal on my trade-in.

The analogy is full Apollo 11. Better fidelity exists but the Company bumbles it’s way back to mediocrity.

I love hi res stuff. I use 2 27" 1440p monitors on my home desktop.

that said, ive never had a problem backing into a spot with the low res rear camera on my truck, other than the camera getting dirty.

Yeah I can live with the poor backup camera image, the forward camera I really wish it had a better picture tho.

I've tried to creep around some rocks when going on a mountain road and the cameras only good enough to give me a rough image of the path, not good enough to pick out the exact rocks I'm trying to avoid.
Since this seems to be an encoding problem I wonder if an aftermarket head unit and new encoders on the cameras would solve this?

Those dynamic reverse lines. My 2019 had them and my 2022 doesn't. I only have the Tech package so I know mine shouldn't come with them but what I was curious to know is what allows them to function? I put an aftermarket Pioneer head unit into my truck and the lines show up, they just don't move. Wondering if it's the camera that allows them to move. If that's the case, I'd like to find a way to make them functional.

The resolution is pretty low compared to other vehicles, rode in my girlfriend's dad f250 and it had a massive screen and parking camera looks extremely crisp. But just like he tries not to use the camera and rely as these are our first vehicles with backup cams so I just find myself turning my head back 90% of the time still.

None to speak of, just enjoying it for the moment.
Yeah my 13 year old Ford SHO had a better resolution camera. It does the job so not a huge deal it just seems funny they are so far behind the rest of the industry in this area. The NTSC theory doesn't make sense since that tech is capable of HD or better resolution typically. I don't see anything to indicate the display is capable of HD so I suspect it's the display limiting it, they probably use the same camera as the rest of the world.
