Do you have your heart set on a TRUCK to do family business?

Reason I ask...I had a 2003 Honda Pilot EX Leather/DVD with 3rd row seating and it worked great for the 16 years I had her.

I jammed so many things into the cavernous area that allowed the second & third row seats to fold down...and things were secure inside it.

My duties with the SUV were almost truck like...without having the open bay of a bed. For that, I used a Harbor Freight collapsible trailer.

Once my time with my Pilot came to an end, that's when I decided to get a TRUCK. I've always liked 4-doors so I stayed with Dual Cab.

You do you but...from my experience, a truck is totally different from an SUV...maybe a 4Runner or the next size up Toyota SUV.

I bought a Tacoma so if a 3rd or 4th person wants to ride it will be a short trip. Your call tho but back seat is small

I have 3 “reservations” on a Tundra for this reason.

kids are 16 and 13 on the small side. My wife drives a 2020 4Runner and we take that for most family trips. The Tacoma fits everyone buts it’s more comfortable in the Runner. I haul kids around everyday with various sports games pickups/drop offs. Both girls love the Tacoma and want me to give it to them lol.

Dude in my experience the 3rd gen back seats are super small. Maybe even a tad smaller than 2nd and 1st gen. Even a gladiator had way bigger back seats and far more legroom and headroom. Given that i dont have kids i always thought I should have gotten an access cab.

id look at any other truck if you want to go for something that will yield more backseat space. Otherwise its more or less the same.

Buy a Tacoma if you hate your kids. Buy a Tundra or Highlander if you love them.

OMG kids might be cramped in the back seat? Too bad so sad. Adults in the back seat? No, take your own car. Non-existent problems solved.

You should’ve thought about this before having three kids. You put yourself in a tough situation my friend. If you elect to get a Tacoma, you will need to send those kids for adoption. No room in the back at all.

The average American: male, female, adult and child weigh more and are taller than they were in the 80's, less agile too.

The average woman today weighs about 166 pounds, just about what the average male did in the early 1960's, the average male today weighs about 195.

(Hey, first time I've been above average!) :anonymous:

I think Toyota needs to say the Tacoma is made for 4 people, not 5. The 4 people ate the 5th person.

For anything more than a short hop two adults and two smaller kids is probably realistic. I have an access cab - even the groceries are tight back there.

Actually your link is from 2015. On the cdc website, the average female is 170lbs and 5’4” while the average male is 5’9” and 200lbs…..

So Toyota needs to say the Tacoma only holds 3 people cause they ate the other 2….
