Sorry if you did already prior, but do you mind sharing a few details regarding the new details, specifically why "they'll be worth the wait" ?

Smartcap has not given specifics to pricing or warranty.

We receive a lot of questions and calls about the ability to open the caps from the interior of the bed. These new latches will offer that ability.

Are they interchangeable with the existing latches? Are the new ones a direct fit?

Yes, they will be offered as a retrofit kit from what we're being told.

How solid is the end of year estimate? Because they originally projected the beginning of 22' for availability.

Per Smartcap this morning, November is current best estimate.

Just got mine in the mail from Mikes Custom Toy's and assembly was pretty easy. One person can put it together but I think two people will be needed to install. I am not sure if I read it anywhere in this thread but get yourself a couple of Irwin quick grip clamps. When you are trying to put the front back clips in it serves as a third set of hands and makes install a breeze. Also before you unbox make sure your torque wrench goes that low. My shitty harbor freight one does not.

i know this is the rsi thread, but anyone look at the new gfc topper? or the alu cab contour? contour seems more in line with the rsi, but the gfc seems to be something of its own.

Looks great easy install Mike's was great it takes some dexterity to get the little bolts to go in. I would advise more than two people to lift it up there but luckily my kid squats a ton.

I think I'd buy the GFC Topper just because of the cool infomercial:
