Off topic but how do you like the hammer hangers you have? I’m going to start saving for the next mod and these are on my list along with the upgraded shackles. I saw you have the archive garage set. I’m not going off road anywhere as nearly as I want, so I’m curious if there is enough benefit to get them. I don’t think I would get the cross bar. Id probably get longer break lines back there as well.

 

Any interest in hosting a 'put that stuff on the underside of the truck so the salt doesn't make things go rusty' event? How close to winter do we need to be (that is to ask, does the stuff need time to 'set' or whatever to work-best?)?

Hammer hangers are a must have for any tacoma, even a stock one. Seriously, they make that much of a difference in how stable the rear of the truck feels going over choppy road.

As a testament, when I brought home my new to me 2020 tundra, I immediately went to archive's site to see if they made hammer hangers for the truck and I wasn't going to waste any time buying some. Turns out the shackle configuration on the tundra is different so the hammer hangers aren't applicable, but that shows how impactful they are. On my bone stock Tundra, I was ready to buy some hammer hangers.

I wouldn't bother with upgraded shackles, there's not much need for a fabricated one. Stock will be fine.

 

Good to hear and thanks for the suggestion/recommendation. I’ll have to see about getting some of the tools I’d need for that since it’s not a simple remove/instal. Maybe the base auto shop has some of those things.

 

That would be a good place to look for sure. I outlined my instructions in that thread but you'll want an angle grinder with cut off wheels and flap disc, air chisel, ball joint press (those can be rented) and a drill. And of course other basic hand tools, but those are the primary tools needed for it.

 

I had checked that out too. I think I can easily get most that stuff too and the autozone here has the press I can rent. Thanks again.

 

Alright. Which one of you was driving a dark gray Tacoma south on 270 earlier?

Looked like it was on 35’s, with a black soft topper, full armor and towing one of those all terrain trailers. Looked like it was ready to go to Afghanistan. I’d to see more of the truck because it was going the opposite direction of me and I almost crashed staring at it.

 

I've got one that I installed about a year ago. Good price and has worked flawlessly so far.

I'm trying to figure out if I can use it to trigger an elocker. Anyone know the answer to that?

 

Good evening, all ! I had a call-back to the dentist today, my toof is still hurting after the newest "repair" to the new filling. They drilled away at some of the new filling and added more onto it, at least that is my understanding of how it worked. I swung by Ikea since I was so close and got $50 worth of stuff that I didn't even know that I needed. The good news- the cafeteria is re-opened. I had a Norwegian salmon salad and a big slice of chocolate cake. And lingonberry juice. Mmmmmm
