Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

Yea the last time I was there and the cashier was uhh pretty homely looking...

 

I always grab a box off the shelf to use for a cart/bag, when the box is full I'm done shopping.

My cashier yesterday was a stunner - tall, lissome, enchanting long hair, wonderful posture, skin like porcelain, a voice like Nanci Griffith....

...and old enough to be my daughter...

 

So I ordered a kinda pricey fiber laser the other day and I paid for the signature required upon delivery option. I was a little ticked when got the delivery confirmation email and no one was home. So I asked my wife to bring the package in when she got home. She responds back a little later with “NOPE” “Too Heavy” and these two photos. Lol



Thankfully when I got home my daughter wanted to help me unpack it. I can’t believe how big this laser is. I thought it going to be similar to a small 3D printer. Lol

 

I'm envisioning the laser from the Honey I Shrunk the Kids movie. What are you planning on making or engraving with it?

 

My logo and ect on the knives that I make, metal certificates of authenticity cards for them, and also to be able to laser parts I make for customers.

 

Cannot wait to see this and what it can do!

 

Good morning all

Another Wednesday, another three days ‘til the weekend..

A minor rage about self check outs. A supermarket has a small corral of maybe 7-8 self checked registers. I run in there for lunch every day I need to work in the office.

Every summer, the line for the corral will be 5 or more long as people attempt to self checkout entire shopping carts.

I’m standing there with my 4 items as one register might have a reasonable shopper working it. Once I get to it, i can scan 3 of them, weigh my gala apple, enter my phone number anf tap my card in under a minute. I can tell none of the other registers turn over.

I’m happy when tourist season is over.

It does seem that way. Even the local deer processor has a jug out that says "tips for skinners". If I'm paying you $90-$100 to process a deer the only tip you're getting from me is be careful with your knife and don't cut yourself

 

I've helped with a couple of Cole's teams over the years, mostly with getting the kids in order for batting. My only problem is I'm terrible with remembering names

I'm just not a sports person.

 

You should check it out, what others said is true but you got to give it a try though.

 

I will reluctantly use self checkout - they don’t pay me to work there. I might feel differently if there was a discount or the prices dropped (like when you use cash or brand card at gas station). But since nothing changes, I get in the human line. If they don’t have one, I’ll get the corral leader to essentially check me out. Sam’s scan as you go is the only partial exception. I started using it because I was already using the gas pay function (so much faster and easier than that card receipt dance) and they offered discounts.

 

I added another light on the toolbox side. Now it’s half and half.

Shined my old girl up yesterday. Looks pretty good for 18 years old.

I will admit that using the Walmart or Sams app to scan things to pay for them is much nicer than either a self checkout or a human line. I wish we had a Kroger around here, because they would give you a palm pilot type of thing to do the same process and you just scan the barcode on the palm pilot at the self checkout and pay. That way, I didn't have to download yet another app, and you get to use reusable bags so no more Bag of Bags in the broom closet!

 

Both of these just went by the shop, took these to show Cole.

 

HECK YEAH! I need to start looking again for a laser and a 3D printer, plus a computer good enough to run both. We've not had a computer at home in 10 years, iPads and iPhones replaced the old desktop.
